I read it. Good stuff. My take away is that Correa isn't necessarily looking for the largest contract, but that he wants a big one that makes sense. He says taxes play a lot into the decision. He mentioned a $270 number in Houston compared to 350 in L.A., saying the Houston contract is better.

ZG had a rough end of season but are we really treating him as washed up? Surely he could give us a start in Boston if LMJ can't go - nerves of steel - and get us 9-12 outs? Or even in middle relief?

Dusty has said they can't get more than 40 pitches out of him. To get that many outs, he'd have to be making quick work of hitters, which is not likely to happen with the RedSox lineup. They would know he's on a pitch count and work counts to their advantage.

He's not stretched out. Went on the COVID IL, then came back, then went back on the IL for neck stiffness. By the time he came off the IL, he'd lost his length, and they didn't have enough time to stretch him back out. I said this earlier this afternoon, but if you start him, it's pretty much a bullpen day. He's little more than an opener at this point.

Seems like when we've heard about guys getting stretched out in the minors, it's by having them make starts of increasing length. I can't imagine trying to throw more and more pitches between appearances is going to be a successful endeavor. Think about how long it takes guys in spring training to get stretched out to 5 or 6 innings.

You can't stretch out at the same time you need to be available out of the pen on any given night.

There comes a time when you either get stretched out or go to the pen. That time is past for ZG. He's a BP arm now.

Unfortunately, other reporters on Twitter are suspecting he may be right. Lance did an hour long podcast apparently with him in 2020. We don't know if they are in the level of texting like he claims, but it could be possible. We will find out tomorrow.

Never underestimate the power of "the scoop."

There is so much negativity leading into this ALCS right now... LMJ rumors, the Correa interview and Stromy's comments about retirement. Need some positive stuff to pop up soon

As a younger folk, I will say Bolen is very "in the know" with Houston sports and the younger athletes. I've followed him for years and he has many anecdotes that these other 'non-independent' personalities do not have/get access to.

Whether you agree with how the kid went about releasing info, I don't think he was trying to intentionally undermine Lance or the Astros, probably just emotional and talked out of his butt. But I would bet almost everything that he is correct, and Lance is done for the year
