No... you proposed basically throwing game 1. You don't concede a game in a 5 game series.

My guess is they're going LMJ because he's had a long break, ZG has some injury or soreness they haven't announced yet, or because of ZG's very mixed results against the As this year. Not to concede the game and try to get a batter SP vs. SP matchup later.
Not to toot my own horn.... but just bringing this post back up from yesterday when they announced LMJ as the starter.

Let's be real: ZG hasn't been good for the last month. His ERA in September was 6.08. Secondly, his record in Dodgers Stadium since he left the team, has not been good either. He gave up 5 runs in the stadium on 9/13.

I think this is the Astros trying to play a hot hand.

Their starter was a 21 year old who debuted towards the end of September I think.
