Same, just missed the Marlins over the Cubs

Thoughts on our bats: we need runs early as the A's pen makes me nervous. I don't think there will be many late rallies against that group.

On pitching: I like throwing McCullers in game one - he's been really good lately and is on 8 days rest. Holding him for later seems like it could further take him out of his regular rhythm and possibly impact his effectiveness.

I like Framber In game 2. Best starter over the course of the season, very good lately, can give us a great outing if we need to bounce back from game 1.

Pitching both early in the series holds open the possibility we could bring both back in game 5 for an inning if desperately needed.

I think we go Grienke in gm 3 and Urquidy in gm 4. We keep Javier in our back pocket and depending on the outcome of previous games, pitch him in relief in gm 3 or 4 if either is a close-out game. If not, hold him for game 5 starter.

Agreed that we need to score runs early. However, being down 1 wouldn't be the worst thing. I think we've seen from past experience that seeing the same relievers over and over eventually takes the edge away a little bit.

I think one of the big wins today is if we can get to their bullpen by the 6th inning. The more we see, the more it helps us later.

I somewhat agree about the bullpen, but when you see the same guys over and over, you start to get them down. The later this goes, the less I'd trust the As pen.

I think the best we can logically hope for is 5 scoreless. That still makes for a loooooong 4 innings.

This is basically the case for every one of our starting pitchers. Could throw six scoreless, could give up crooked numbers early.

Let's just hang about 12 runs on them it so it doesn't matter.
