We've gone from a manager that played almost 99% by the numbers to a manager that plays 99% by feel. I suspect the players are confused and don't know exactly what to do.

Then they 2 against SF, 3 against Astros, 3 against the Padres and then close with 4 against Oakland

They could easily finish .500 this season

Looking at standing, it's a bizarre mess everywhere. This is a messed up season.

The Yankees are also 21-19 and they are the current 8 seed. Third in the East 6.5 games back. If we are unhappy, can you imagine the NY press, fans and JomBoy?

Boston is dead ass last at 14-28. Sure they are in salary purgatory, but two years after blowing everyone away and winning a ring, its been a bad 2 years.

The defending WS champion Washington Nationals don't want Boston to feel lonely. They are dead ass last sporting a 14-25 record. It's a long way down from the pinnacle of success.

The Chicago White Sox are leading the AL Central.

Milwaukee is 3 games under .500, in third in the NL Central but not out of it because...

The 8 seed in the NL is a game under .500. That's a tie between SF and Miami, two teams in full on rebuild mode. And as it stands now the NL West could get 4 teams in the playoffs.

Yea 3-4 is a no brainer. I'd definitely take that.

2-5 is a little tougher, but it would leave us at 23-24 with mostly bottom feeders down the stretch and still in full control of our playoff destiny.

A friend of mine, Braves fan, asked me last night if I thought the Astros championship window was closing. At the time I felt certain it was yes. Today I'm a little more optimistic.
