I was actually going to visit this top, when I saw
Lewis Brinson (25) was optioned on 4/30.
2019: .197, 0 HR, 0 SB. Still early, but not looking good.
While I agree the trades don't seem as devastating now... I do think we lost considerable talent.
The jury is still out on
Luis Ortiz.
He went 11 GS, 3.71 in AA, last year. He was 22. Now 23 and sniffing the Big.
Ryan Cordell (27): .227, 2 HR, 1 SB in 17 G, this year.
Dempster...
Kyle Henrdicks (29)
2014-'18: 132 GS, 3.07 ERA, 52-33, 1.110 WHIP. That's about 26 GS/Season, and he only got 13 GS, his 1st year.
2019: 5 GS, 5.33 ERA.
Hamels:
Jerad Eickoff (28): 68 GS, 3.84 ERA for Philly. Had a great 2016 (age 25) and then kinda fell off.
Jorge Alfaro (26): .288, 5 HR, now with Miami. Career: .272, 20 HR, in 166 GP
Dylan Moore (Sea-26): 22G, 41PA, .194, 1 HR, 1 SB. Traded to Atl for Int'l Money/bonus slots.
I quickly went through players they drafted that are in MLB... Too lazy to look at the Int'l players...
There are a couple whom they got in trades and subsequently got traded, and I can't recall.
Having said that... clearly you consider talent as an asset. Like Darvish... there are some players we've fretted over not keeping, who also went on to do nothing...
