That was painful. We gave that game away with the late errors... and RC leaving pitchers in for too long.

According to T.R., Odor, Jurado, and Huang now in Seattle. Hearn in Texas with Meister (elbow), Wisdom and Springs to Nashville.

Yikes, been busy today and this is first I've heard of Hearn. I guess we'll find out soon enough, but this article indicates it "might" be more of a procedural roster management move. Let's hope so....

When i saw Hearn news to open tonight's broadcast, the first thing that came to mind was a bit of roster management IL abuse. But it's concerning if there is any truth to it at all

That was my thought. No point in starting to use up his options if they're not sure if they'll need him again next week. In the meantime, you need a fresh arm somehow.

Yep. Glad Odor is back to contribute all his strikeouts.

He hurried back because Santana was doing so well and the rangers had no patience at all in welcoming him back with open arms. His rehab assignment was one of the shortest I've ever seen.

Forsyth has killed us on this road trip. He hits into double plays at the worst possible moments.

I remember the one in Oakland where we had bases loaded and no outs. He somehow managed to hit into a double play and we didn't even get a run out of it.

This one just killed our best comeback attempt.

Our pitchers issue way to many walks. It's killing us. It's killed us on this road trip.

I'd rather throw the ball right down the middle and have them hit it out of the park.

6 game losing string on the road will make most teams look bad.

I'm sure Woody appreciates the opportunity to become a MLB manager, but at some point he is going to have to ask for a little more to work with.

We have 2 more off days coming up - 29th and the 2nd. I know they've talked about having more days off, but I've never seen so many days off.

7 teams in MLB have 27 or more games.
Texas is at 25. That has worked in their favor to skip rotation spots, but it catches up to you.
Minor goes tonight. He is 17th in IP (33.2), in MLB. If he goes 6.0 IP, he'll be 3rd (not counting anyone who also pitches today). The point is, Minor has pitched a higher percentage of inning for his team, than other SPs

Marco Gonzalez leads the majors with 47.0 IP, but the Mariners have played 29 G.

Minor has pitched 15% of the teams IP. He has 30% of the IP by a Rangers SP.

Hopefully this gets him going tho.

You seem to hate Odor more than natural... like he slept with your girlfriend, or stole your stash...

As of May 23, last year, Odor went:

23 G, .171, 76 AB, 25 SO, 1 HR, 7 R and 10 RBI.
after?
105 G, .268, 395 AB, 102 SO, 17 HR, 69 R and 52 RBI.

He has been on the IL, so I'll be happy with today's performance, and hope he continues to contribute.

Minor with another nice start, 6ip, 1 run.

Think he was at 98 Pitches so may be done for the night. Or on a very short leash if they send him back out there.

Minor is a beast.

I'm almost afraid to trade him because I think the front office would accept a bad deal like they did for Darvish / Hamels.

The team really needed a game like this. Especially nice that it happened on the road.

Much different circumstances than Darvish and Hamels. Rangers HAD to unload those guys because the Rangers weren't contenders, we're unlikely to re-sign, and they were both expensive contracts. Not the best situation to unload guys.

As for Minor, he's still relatively cheap, and the Rangers don't HAVE to get rid of him (under contract thru 2020). The Rangers have leverage with Minor, and shouldn't make any sort of deal unless it REALLY benefits the Rangers.

I agree with you that it has to be a "someone calls and blows me away" type offer or I'm not doing it.

There were lots of concerns with Darvish.

He was just coming back from TJ surgery.

For the month of July Darvish went 5 GS, 7.20 ERA and he was seen as tipping his pitches.

He didn't pitch in 2015 (TJ)... went 100.1 IP in 2016 and was at 137.0 IP in 2017. His season era was at 4.01, but there was serious concerns about if he would help a contender.

Hamels went:
3.66 ERA - '15
3.32 ERA in '16
4.20 ERA in '17
4.72 ERA in '18, before he was traded.

In July '18, Hamels went 4 GS, 11.12 ERA. There was a rift between JD and Hamels that developed. Hamels wanted no part of the 6 man rotation JD had been promoting. I'm not going to say Hamels tanked 2018, but I have every reason to believe Hamels did not want the Rangers to pickup his 2019 option. He went to the Cubs and went 12 GS, 2.36 ERA... and has gone 5GS with a 3.16 this year.

Neither were having a good season... had horrible July's and were 2 month rentals. The fact JD could unload them is remarkable.

JD is responsible for hiring Brocail, and all of the pitching failings he punished us with... But trading Darvish and Hamels was a bigger challenge than it should have been.

Santana and Minor are both likely going to bring us some good talent, if they get traded. Neither of them need to be traded, and there is no pressure to hold on to them during a lost season, in which they will leave for nothing in return.
