A few weeks ago on the Houston forum AustinCo referred to immigrants or maybe Hispanic people in general as "brown trash".

Maybe it's just me, but I think if you're going to root for a team full of brown guys, maybe you should take your own advice about speaking & typing bad assumptions.

Harry, is this you?

That's gotta be an awkward meeting. "So...how much should we pay you to not be able to play this season, but we want to keep you around and happy?"

Looks like they avoided arbitration with Peacock and Pressly too.

No doubt he'll be ready and crush the rehab I was just surprised it happened this late. If anybody is motivated to rehab and get back 100% it's Bregman the gym rat.

Just doesn't seem like an injury that would come up in the offseason.
You try hauling these around all offseason

Blummer was on the radio earlier saying he had the same surgery twice and that Bregman should be fine. Minor stuff.

Will Harris get 4.25 mill. Farmer throw out his advantage metrics for us to show how good he is

Sorry, some people see ERA and just decide that is the only metric we should judge someone on. I'm just trying to enlighten you old folks.

We also avoided arb with Peacock, McCullers, & Pressly. They've all good too. Want their metrics?

Are you sure? Peacock missed the postseason line up, right? Don't most of y'all want lance to move to a closer role?

Hoping to see some signings or trades this week. Baseball off-season is slow. I wish it was more like the NFL where every major signing happens before the draft.

Part of me was wondering if the Marlins were waiting to deal Realmuto until after his arb settlement was reached, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

There's a typo in Bregman's name in your summary under your headline.

Quote:

One of the Fantasy Baseball sleepers you need to be all over in 2019: Astros 1B/DH Tyler White... Hitting in a loaded Houston lineup that was fifth in the major leagues last season in runs scored, White should have plenty of opportunities to produce big Fantasy numbers in 2019. SportsLine's model ranks him 15th among first basemen, higher than players like Ian Desmond and Max Muncy, both of whom had better Fantasy numbers last season.

from a value standpoint...White is definitely worth the risk. (i.e. give him a shot at DH to start the season)

White (and Kemp) are out of options. They're on the big league team or hit waivers if they're sent down.

It'll be interesting to see if they don't carry more than the usual 12 position players, what the bench will look like on the opnening day roster.

Assuming Carlos gets back to form, that is a really solid 1-6. If Carlos is healthy, I would switch Bregman and Altuve in a heartbeat.

If you get a .270 hitter out of reddick and .250-.270 hitter from white with 20 bombs, that would be a particularly potent lineup.

Damn. The bottom third of that lineup could be a string of automatic outs when they are struggling. Would still likely be a top third of the league offense, but no longer a truly elite offense.

That's my concern as well.

Solid lineup, but one more bat (whether it's a C, DH, or 1B) would make this lineup top to bottom scary.

Yeah, my comment was solely based on the line-up they presented and a season average.

I ultimately think we're going to see Brantley and Reddick swapped a lot for Kemp throughout the season.

So here's my question. If Tucker shows out at spring training again this year, do you DH him or DH someone like Reddick or Brantley to get Tucker ABs?

If he shows out at spring training this year and shows improvement on the things the organization asked him to work on, that means he would have done that two years in a row and had really, really good production when he went back down last year.

I personally am of the opinion that I want the kid to get about a month or two of ABs without looking over his shoulder to see what he can do. I just think the risk is worth the reward if the rest of the lineup produces. If it clicks for him, he could be that extra bat everyone is clamoring for. I guess I just want to roll with it and see what happens.
