They've been trying to move Gray for awhile now. Hell they've been open and adamant that they wanna move him.

He sucks in Yankee stadium and they're trying to offload him for whatever they can get.

But I can tell you they won't be getting a top tier prospect for a pitcher who posted a 4.90 ERA and was relinquished to the BP towards the end of the year.

This is a situation in which the Yanks have no leverage. They're dumping a pitcher who has declined in recent years and is gonna be a rebuild project.

Someone will have to explain to me what the Mets are doing. They took on Cano and his salary dump but want to trade Thor. And somehow are in the mix for Realmuto. Those things together make no sense at all.
I think if they got Realmuto then they wouldn't trade Thor.

Or maybe they think they will get an elite return for Thor. And they plan on selling higher than they bought for Cano and Diaz at the trade deadline.
If they think that they are nuts. Baseball players aren't houses to flip. Old expensive ones do not increase in value. No mater how many coats of paint you slap on them.
Didn't say they would get more. There could be a slew of teams calling about Diaz at the deadline.

Why no thanks? He's affordable and would be a solid 4-5 type? Consistent sub 4 fip, xfip, & era.

When I first read your post I totally agreed Then I thought about it and I thought, "why not"?

Everybody understands that it's a business now - the players are commodities and they don't have much loyalty to teams and vice versa. No one really gets their feelings too hurt about getting traded, "it's part of the business" and so on Why is it so out of the question for a smart executive to trade for an asset and then flip it for better asset?

I don't think the Mets are smart and I don't think that's what's happening here, but people thought "moneyball" was out of the question and now it's the norm and I think flipping players will eventually be standard as well.

Is 110 good?

110 is decent! I love that they cut the clip off right before he throws his glove and screams I don't even want to know what.

Maybe a dumb question but what does 110 mph from 10 ft away with a crow hop translate to throwing off the mound from 60 ft away from the windup?

Hmmm...Also tells me they're not quite ready to hand off the position to Tucker.

Signing Happ would be very similar to resigning Keuchel...just for less money and years. I'd be on board with that.

Or maybe they think they're open to moving Tucker in a deal if they can add a corner OFer.

Lots of possibilities out there.

The NL East has decided collectively that the Division is up for grabs and it is going to the highest bidder.

I would like this move. A professional hitter who gets on base in front of Bregman.

Philly spending like this I can't help but think about San Diego a few offseasons ago. They went for broke and went broke. So it's definitely no guarantee to spend a ****load of money

I'm just gonna say it...

Assuming the Astros can offer Harper something reasonably close what the Phillies/Cubs/Dodgers are offering on a state tax neutral basis, why in the world would he not want to snuggle up in the middle of this for the next 10 years?

Springer
Altuve
Harper
Bregman
Correa

Hit between righties. Fastballs all day. Run producing opportunities all day. Deep playoff runs every year. Don't have to be "the man". Don't have to be scrutinized by a-hole fanbases/media. Sounds like a good time to me.

Bregman and Harper on the same team would be something.

We would reach Yankee level of hatred. The arrogance of our team would be immeasurable, and I would love it.

It would be a fun mix for sure.

Springer is one of the most fun/exciting players in the game.
Altuve is lovable and modest.
Bregman and Harper are super competitive.
Correa is Hollywood.

WTF does Luhnow have working?

With the holes we have and players that are out there both FAs and trades I find it hard to believe that he doesn't have something cooking.
