Offseason humor:
I was listening to 97.5 in Houston the other night and the host was talking about a few moves he thought the Astros should make... all of which seemed at least a little reasonable (big hitter DH, trade for Kluber, etc). Then he had a surprise move that he was passionate about... took a commercial break and revealed it.
The move? Sign Kimbrel and trade Osuna lol.
1) Kimbrel is a solid regular season closer but he's not a lock down guy in the playoffs. Tons of walks. He seems like a slightly better version of Giles.
2) The absolute last type of deal I could see Luhnow making is to pay $15-20mm annually on a long term deal for a CLOSER, especially with all our costs coming up.
3) Osuna got beat up in G3 against the Red Sox but really wasn't bad otherwise. And he's waaaay cheaper. And trading him would still yield 50 cents on the dollar.
