Time to call up someone from AAA. It's not likely to make a huge difference but it's worth a try.
They have to do something. Sitting pat is not an option anymore.
Once again, everything gets magnified by our offense's inability to score runs. Umpire mistakes, pen giving up a single run...both killer because we can't do **** on offense.

Remember when last year we could be down 5-0 and we all knew we still a great chance to win the game. This year if the opposing team gets 2 runs we might as well quit watching because these guys are completely lost at the plate.

They're pressing, they're not executing, they're not working the zone, they're not being aggressive, etc etc. Lots of reasons why they aren't playing up to their potential but not "wanting it" is ridiculous. Such a easy go-to take.

A series in which they put-hit their opponents in every single game. That's mostly bad sequencing, not bad hitting. Underperforming? Yes. Unlucky? That's also a huge factor right now.
Marwin getting called out on strikes on a ball four inches off the plate is bad luck. George swinging and missing three 92 mph fastballs right down the middle is just bad. We're a little of both right now.
Astros outscored the Dbacks 12-7 on the series. This team has just had a lot of things not go there way in close games. Sometimes it evens out, sometimes it doesn't. I believe they are already below .500 in 1-run games.titanmaster_race said:

glad that Reddick only signed a 4-year contract. He looks like the wrong side of 30.
only 17 RBI for the season hitting primarily 4th or 5th.

I suggested before the season started that Reddick might be good trade bait this year to fill any needs and was pretty much ridiculed.
the regression of the outfield has been dramatic.
last year Springer, Marwin, and Reddick combined for 70 HR's and 257 RBI.

Need Irish Pete to comfort me with some sequencing/career average numbers for our guys because I'm STARTING to get a little frustrated.

Marwin is the perfect utility player. He should play once or twice a week not everyday.

I got called out for suggesting trading Marwin after last year. I doubt we see that again.

We are going through what will probably be one of our worst stretches this year, yet we are still on pace to win 94 games. I totally get the frustration and something does seem off about our offense, but baseball is the strangest game of them all. This is a good team.
94 wins doesn't mean anything. Its WS or bust. The starting pitching is WS caliber the bullpen is not and 5-9 hitters are not either. Wasting this pitching staff would be a sin against the baseball Gods.

You gotta win games to get into the playoffs. We are on track to get a lot of them. 94 probably gets you the division.
