Every pitch in that AB was just nasty
Impossible

Severino is dealing. Hitters look lost and intimidated. Some silly swings and surprise taken pitches for strikes at the plate...
Bingo. Face it. Doesn't matter who they are facing. Last night they made nine innings of bullpen pitchers all look like Cy Young. Again, they aren't hitting against ANYONE. Doesn't matter who the hell it is.titanmaster_race said:Cheo said:

So just like most nights at MMP this year?
I think Hitch is desperate.agproducer said:
I think the lack of hitting boils down to a few things:
Hitters are being too selective at the plate. I've seen some really bad takes while the Astros hitters are waiting for better pitches, and those pitches never come. They need to go back to see ball, hit ball.
The guys are likely putting more pressure on themselves now. They've now got major expectations. They are expected to be good, and when they struggle, it's magnified. These guys play well when they are having fun and are loose. They don't look like they are having fun.
The loss of Beltran as a mentor has hurt.
Gattis needs time at catcher to get him going at the plate. When he has struggled before, time behind the dish has helped.
Marwin needs to work on just making contact. Screw hitting for power right now.
And, Hinch needs to stick with a lineup. He keeps benching guys who are struggling and putting in guys who are struggling just as bad. To get out of a slump, you need to have consistent ABs. It's tough to have that consistency when you play two games, then sit the bench for two.

This is going to be a complete game shut out, isn't it?
Besides the five OFs on the roster now they don't have another one on the 40 man. Don't seem to be very deep in the minors with outfielders. Ferguson maybe..... The outfield they trotted out there tonight had a combined batting average right at the Mendoza line.W said:
and of course we talked all during the offseason...that all 3 outfielders last year had career years.
and more than likely 1 or 2 would not repeat their numbers. It may end up being all 3
Their starter last night went one complete inning.Aggie8587 said:
2 runs in 25 innings against a super mediocre pitching staff AT HOME... we should be pretty concerned

Wouldn't mind seeing Kemp. At least he would put the ball in play. hat's about 10x better than what we're getting out of Marisnick/Fisher.threeanout said:Besides the five OFs on the roster now they don't have another one on the 40 man.
