That's the frustrating part. The runs last night and then several of them tonight are completely avoidable if we don't put ourselves in dumb positions with mistakes

Agree with those, but mostly referring to the 3rd when you take the lead and give it right back in the bottom half of the inning with walks.

Defense cost us badly. One run would have been saved if the wall ball didn't get hung up on the railing. Maldonado cost us 2 although Cole's pitching out us in the bad spot in the first place.

Yeah, technically. But if you're down by one run in the 6th it becomes a team effort (win or defeat) - when starting pitcher isn't in the rest of the game.
