If he's able to do it, that could be huge. Wonder if he has any experience with it in the past.

From what I understood, IKF was being transitioned to Catcher and only moved back, because of the injuries, this season.

I think Jose Trevino is the guy they are really expecting to Catch.

He is at AA. He was the MiLB Gold Glove at Catcher in both 2016 and 2017. An award given to one player in all of the MiLB at each position.

Here are his last 7 GS broken up:
He went 5 GS, 35.1 IP, 27 H, 5 ER, 5 BB, 12 SO. That's 7.0 IP/GS, 1.275 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
Then his last 2 GS, 10.1 IP, 23 H, 13 ER, 3 BB 7 SO.

He has stumbled his last 2 GS. Those are on the heels of his CG SHO (which was 3 GS, ago).

He is at 85 GS (105 G) with 521.0 IP for his minor league career. 3.45 ERA, 1.26 WHIP.

Richelson Pena (24-RHP-AA)
Last 5 GS: 35.0 IP, 32 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 24 SO. That's 7.0 IP, 1.286 ERA, 0.97 WHIP

He is at 104 GS (138G) with 608.1 IP for his minor league career. 3.64 ERA, 1.18 WHIP.

Let's hope Pena doesn't follow with 2 dud GS.

I suspect both will be in the Majors in some capacity, next season.

Jeez, what a miserable season. Only thing to look forward to is trade deadline and September call ups.

Eh...not really. In 2017 he had a 123 wrc+ and hit 41 bombs.

He's down this year so far but his batted ball profile is also changing as he tries to adjust to the shift taking away so many hits from him. His hard hit % is actually up so far this year compared to last year, btw. The skills are still there.

Mendez has been pretty bad at AAA.

It's kind of like they're completely giving up and still trying to compete all at the same time.

I've watched Mendez twice at Round rock..the velocity speed off the opponents bats and his inability to throw strikes were pretty amazing
