I'm not even sure why you asked about the "trending" in the first place. Why should a short sample (a game, a week, a month) matter more than the season stats.

Bottom line is that Marisnick, a guy we use as a pinch runner and defensive replacement more often than as an actual starter, is better in every facet of the game than Gomez. I bet that hurts...

you're resorting to all-star appearances to justify how well Gomez is playing right now?? Gomez's last all star game was 2014...when he was in the national league. So he and Marisnick are pretty much equal in that regard.

Oh and his gold glove is from 4 years ago. You Dallas kiddos love living in the past in any sport!

A few weeks ago there were people in this very thread trying to argue that Gomez was better than Springer. Now you can't even convince me he's better than our backup CF.

CFs are generally the best OFer on each respective team, Gomez is not a top 15 CFer in MLB

Hell, he is worse than Marisnick, Springer and Reddick at that position

Y'all were dumping on Gomez and I pointed out that he was having a better season than Springer up to that point. I also went on to say later that I wouldn't bet on that trend continuing. He's a good ball player, even though he sucked in Houston. I don't get the fixation on him.
