I know you're jealous of Daddy's pace of winning 97, but 61 will get you a pretty good draft pick. So in 3-4 years he may help.

For as much as the Astros fans care about stats, you'd think that they know 10 games is not a sufficient sample size to forecast a 162 game season.

How many games will have to happen before you drop this talking point and move on to your next one? The season was over before it started. You're just not good enough.

Rangers fans are the sips of dallas but with less championships, pretending their "rival" isnt actually their rival

Astros fans are like our Aggies...Always comparing to the Sips.
Who said the Astros aren't a rival? As long as they're in our division, they're a rival. Granted, they are a rival that the Rangers have dominated at historic levels, but a rival nonetheless.

Considering we were 8 games below 500 in May of 2015 and still were under 500 in August yet managed to snatch the division from the Astros I think we'll wait a bit longer.

Hahaha talking about "pace" after 10 games. The Reds are on pace to win 126 then. Of course, if a Reds fan puffed their chest about that, you'd rightly laugh and dismiss it. I'd say that talking about pace after 10 games is silly, but it pales in comparison to constantly calling the Astros "daddy" given the Rangers have won the last 2 division titles, have won more pennants, and have an all-time 95-53 record vs the Astros (on pace to win 104 over 162-game period). Heck, it took being the most injured team in baseball history just for the Astros to win a season series vs the Rangers.

Let me guess. You refer to the Aggies as "daddy" in comparison to the sips, right?

You better keep hoping that dallas.keuchel shows up as last year's Dallas keuchel and that Reddick magically turns into Colby Rasmus and that Brian McCann magically turns into Jason Castro and that your Bullpen can do anything other than give up massive leads.

In other words, this ain't last year.

I'm not the one calling a team that has been dominated by another at levels never before seen in baseball history "Daddy".

I would hope not. My best friend is an Astros fan and he's not so delusional to constantly refer to the Astros as "daddy" given the historic levels of dominance the Rangers have over them. There does seem to be a consistent thread of insecurity running through most Astros fans I know (and living in Houston, I know a lot). In that way, I certainly see the similarities between Astros fans and Aggies.

I'm aware. Just pointing out to your special poster that ten games in ain't the time to throw in the towel. Especially given the division favorites tendency to roll over when playing the Rangers.

You may need to talk to your fellow Arlingtonite. He started the thread about being a "seller at the deadline" 10 games in. I think he's realizing what is up. You're slow. You'll get there too.

Goodness. That had nothing to do with the standings. It was just a hypothetical for fans of any club, even clubs like the Cubs. It had nothing to do with actual projections. I was simply wanting to get a discussion going as to what tradeable assets fans thought their teams possessed if this season went completely down the toilet for their teams.

Worried? I believe on the previous page I gave my expectations for this season. My gut tells me it could be a long season. I wouldn't be surprised if we won the division. I wouldn't be surprised if we finished 4th. It's a pretty balanced division so the standings could end up in any order. The Rangers could be sellers or buyers at the deadline. Neither would surprise me. This is one of those types of seasons, at least that's how I see it.

I'm not a delusional fan whose going to predict a WS every year, or who is going to refer to the Rangers as "daddy" of a team that has dominated them at historic levels. I'm going to be honest in my assessment.

But, since Rangers fans are apparently like the sips, I'll just respond to everything w/ the all-time record between the two clubs.

I've never met anyone in baseball who knows, cares, or has ever stated the all-time baseball record between 2 clubs until I met the Arlingtonians.

You look back at that meaningless stats. Daddy will enjoy winning so much that we get tired of it.

BTW, I just realized something. If you want to project a 97 win season based on 10 games, then we should be consistent and recognize that the Astros pace would make them the luckiest team in history. Their projected run differential would be -32, whereas the 61-win Rangers would have a run differential of +81.

Or does run differential not count this year?

You're clinging to run differential, huh?

It's just getting sad now. What kind of loser at the bottom of the standings would talk about such a meaningless stat when we all know it's about winning. And Daddy wins. Daddy wins bigly.
