LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Not with our current BMA's calling the shots.

Hey now... if I had told you in 2012 or 2013 that the Astros would be World Series champs in 2017, you wouldn't have believed me either.

Ok soap box time.

I am ****ing tired of these people saying game 7 didn't live up and it was kind of boring. That's such bs.

You know why it wasn't close? Because the Astros played team ball. Bregman hit the ball to the right to move the runner. He got rewarded. Altuve didn't try to do too much and sacrificed himself for the run.

The Dodgers had their chances and they didn't do the same thing. Smoltz even noted that they weren't doing it. Maybe the Dodgers should learn something.

Then you had Morton come in and throw filth and it was damn impressive.

Because the Rangers traded Darvish to the Dodgers and the Dodgers chose to start him in a Game 7.

I'm right there with you. Joe Buck last night just couldn't get over how the Dodgers were failing get the win. Hey Joe did you ever stop and think that the Astros pitching and fielding was the reason they defeated the Dodgers? The Ds didn't beat themselves in to defeat, the Astros WON the game.

It typical East/West coast biased bull sheet.

Just imagine how 1/6 would've played out if DC hadn't had such strict gun laws.

Two people starred his post as of the time of this signature. Those 3 people are allowed to vote in the US.

I hear ya. But getting to watch this with both of my kids (and my wife), I combine all of yours into this one great day.

Didn't get to watch with my little one since she was down before the game even started, but I can't wait to tell her about it. Glad her wait for this was only 10 months.

Here she was in her Halloween costume

Same here, mine only 6 months

This very well may be the best day of my life. I'm serious.
1. The two days my kids were born
2. Day I got married
3. Astros World Series champions.

That's pretty much it. Everything else is just stuff that happens and you enjoy or hate it in that moment, then the next day happens and you start all over.
For me it's:
1. The day my daughter was born.
2. The day I got married.
3. Seeing the Astros win Game 5 at Minute Maid.
4. World Series Championship

I know it may seem weird to put Game 5 higher than a title, but after that game, I felt like we already won. It was such an emotional, cathartic and draining experience. I was so satisfied with just experiencing the elation of that game. The WS championship is such a relief. I felt it would never happen. It's like a pleasant surprise.

Every morning my daughter would ask if the Astros won even if they didn't play the night before.

We marked off each win together.

This was this morning in the dark right before I left for work.

Before we move to the offseason thread, here were my favorite games that I attended this year:
  • Monday, April 3. My first Opening Day. 3-0 Astros
  • Wednesday, April 5. Devenski's nearly flawless (4.0 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 7 K) relief appearance in a tie game got us into extra innings, where Jandal Gustave loaded the bases. Brad Peacock entered in the 13th, and I almost left the game; he walked in the go-ahead run, and I almost left again; he struck out the next three, and I thought I was delirious from being up too late on a work night. Springer hit a walk-off dinger to the very corner of the Crawford Boxes in the bottom of the frame to win 5-3.
  • Saturday, May 20. Dad took me to so many games at the Astrodome and Enron and Minute Maid before we moved to Colorado in 2002. This was literally the day after he moved back to Houston, and I got to take him to a game for once. Indians shut out Astros 3-0.
  • Wednesday, June 14. Derek Fisher sends his first major league hit into the Crawford Boxes. I was standing behind that section visiting with the usher. Astros routed the Rangers 13-2.
  • Friday, June 16. This one was fun because I had a couple of beers with IrishPete and CSWendt. I hope to see more of you guys next season! 2-1 Boston.
  • Saturday, July 1. Yankees had a 3-run lead in the 8th. Betances gave 2 back and then walked the tying and go-ahead runs, so Chapman came in to quash the rally. I was standing behind left field, and the whole stadium was on its feet, so I was trying to catch every pitch by peeking through the rows in front of me. Gurriel doubled in 2 runs to take the lead for good. 7-6 Astros.
  • Thursday, October 5. My first postseason game. Altuve's 3 home runs headlined an 8-2 win over the Red Sox.
  • Saturday, October 14. This is the best baseball game I have ever seen in person. I'm glad my family was there to see Verlander's complete game and Correa's walk-off RBI double.
  • Friday, October 27. I gave my dad World Series tickets for his birthday, and he was every bit as excited as my brother and I used to be when he took us to games as kids. In what was probably a pivotal game, the Astros chased Yu Darvish after 1.2 innings, causing Roberts to completely exhaust his bullpen. I think they won Game 5 because of Game 3. In a delightful sort of symmetry, Brad Peacock bookends this list -- he threw 3.2 brilliant, hitless innings in relief to lock down the 5-3 win.

I literally love this team and this season and this thread! I may even un-ignore some of you guys next season.

My 4 favorite games I attended this year. (Astros went 13-1 in the games I went to, but these stand out)

- May 2nd ... the epic Astros/Rangers game, (Marwin grand slam)
- the AL West clincher vs the Mariners. Verlander pitching, and it was just awesome.
- ALDS game 2. My first playoff game since I was a little kid (I went when I was 10 to one of the Astros/Braves NLDS games)
- ALCS game 6. Such an epic atmosphere, and awesome win.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to a WS game. But I'm so thankful I got to go to so many games this season now that I graduated in May and moved to Houston in July.

I hope someone caught some of the Dodgers fans' vitriol towards Yu on video so that we can compare it to what Yuli did. Surely it pales in comparison to Yuli's egregious gesture.

In Houston, all Dems should park near Lyons and Waco Street.

It may be smart to park near BBVA soccer stadium across 59 from Min Maid and take the train at BBVA all the way to the Post Office near City hall.

and those socks just put it over the top.

I attended two this year.

June 2nd in Arlington, my friend got us free tickets and sat three rows behind Reddick. Choo got pissy and told Astros fans to "shut the **** up", and butthurt Rangers fans all around me when I gave other Astros fans a high five. Very fun game.

June 17th in Houston, my wife bought me tickets to the game against the Red Sox for my birthday (June 16th) because I hadn't been to a game at Minute Maid since I moved to Dallas in 2013. Awesome getting to see the team in what turned out to be an ALDS preview. Also visited 8th Wonder before the game.

Both games were 7-1 Astros wins

All my teams are Texas teams and I've had some good years (I'm an Austin area guy so I don't have a city specific allegiance):

World Championships I witnessed:
Astros: 2017 CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cowboys: Multiple
Spurs: Multiple
Dallas Stars: 1999 Champs

***I won't include the Rockets cause they aren't my team, but I enjoyed the heck out of their title wins in the 90's as a teenager... screw the Mavs though!

The only one left for me, you, and everybody here... The Aggies Football (sorry ladies hoops, it was great, it really was, but I require something else to be fulfilled!).

I went 0-4 for regular season games attended this year at MMP.

But I was there for victories in Game 2 ALDS and Game 1 ALCS.

I'll call that a successful season at MMP.
