I know I was very critical of all the off days AJ gave out during the regular season. Did it help us to get over the finish line? Who knows...maybe, maybe not.
That being said, I won't complain as much about all the off days next season. Not so much because we won it all this year with that strategy, but that you've been hearing every year for the last few years...from the Cubs and the Royals the last two years...how the season is so long when you get to the World Series and how spring training comes and it seems like things had just settled down and it's time to crank it up again. They said they still just felt tired throughout the next season.
We just played 180 games...went 112-68 if you count the playoffs. Spring training is barely 100 days away if you can believe that. So, I expect and almost hope to see a lot of off days for our studs next year. Just a tough call since even though on average, home field advantage in baseball isn't the biggest thing in the world. But we obviously played way better at home in the playoffs so I don't think we just throw that potential advantage away.
First game I can remember going to was in 1979. After losing in 1980 and 1986, just never thought I would ever know what it's like to win the World Series. Incredible feeling.
