Why do people keep saying guys like Gregerson and Sipp are going to lose it in the postseason for us? Do people not realize guys like that will not pitch meaningful innings in the playoffs? Those guys will only come in during the playoffs if the game is out of hand either way. Giles, Harris, Devo, Peacock and maybe Martes/Feliz will be the only relievers coming in when it matters.

Feliz? The guy in AA?

Hinch loves using Gregerson. He will pitch important postseason innings.

I hope Jeff channels his inner Daryl today.

I seriously doubt it, unless one of our big 4 relief pitchers are hurt. You also have Fiers/Morton possibly in the pen as well. That is 5 relievers ahead of Gregerson, you don't need 6 to pitch meaningful innings in the postseason.

I didn't say they are going to lose it. I said IF they lose it then I am going to lose my mind.

They are both still on the roster and pitching regularly so I'm concerned we will see them.

Which is why Theo Epstein is one of the greats... wish we could make decisions like this

I'm not sure that makes the BoSox that much better. Hitting and starting pitching depth are much bigger problems for them.

I'm not saying that he's not but the Brewers have collapsed big time and let them take that division.

But yeah...It's crazy the talent they have and the moves they make.

If I'm Luhnow, I'm still trying my best to get DeGrom from the Mets. I'd even throw in the untouchable Kyle Tucker.

Here's what really muddies the water. Do you overpay for a Gray or Britton now if you feel a guy like DeGrom or someone similar might be available this offseason?

The cubs over paid hugely for Quintana. I'm glad Luhnow didn't do that.

I'm glad we're "also in". Damn are we going to make a push or not.

I'll wait until after the deadline to pass judgment, but the whole "wait until the 11th hour and make them blink first" strategy that several on this board are either advocating or stating that Luhnow is advocating is very precarious. There aren't a lot of viable targets in this window, but there are a lot of teams desperate to get better, and it doesn't sound like any of them are balking at potentially overpaying.

I'm worried that once the dust settles there won't be anyone left because only the Astros weren't willing to pay asking prices.

Lefties are batting a paltry .106 versus Devo, and you don't have to take him out of the game after facing one batter.

In my opinion, pissing down your leg bad is overpaying for a LOOGY.

It seems like the Yankees have a new 25 man roster than when they started the season based on all of the trades they've made.

Brad Hand may be the best of any reliever we have discussed.

looking closer, Hand is by far the best name we could get. 2.00 ERA and team control through 2020.

even if we dont win it this year thats a fantastic move.

Looking back I sure wish we'd have made a move for Doolittle. Nats got one over on Billy on that deal.

Hell we should've just pulled the trigger on a Doolittle and Gray package and called it a day.
