devo hasn't had an extended outing in a long time, and the bullpen has been used extensively as of late. why only 4 outs for him?

The royals are the most annoying little ****ing hitters. Dink and dunk but I guess it's effective. We already lost a series to them this year and need to bounce back tomorrow to avoid it again.
It's been stated multiple times but Ken giles has 2 pitches and the fastball has zero movement.
I'm sorry but you can't be a consistent closer in this league with a flat fastball and a slider you have no idea where is going 50% of the time

Giles became good only because of his slider. Fastball is just throwing for triple digits Down he pipe wherever it ends up with no command and no movement. If he hadn't developed a slider he would be a nobody novelty who lit up the gun in some games.

That was bad outing for Giles. He refused or couldn't bury that slider in the dirt. Never threw it with any authority.
I'm not as down on Giles as some you saying he's done.

Outcome sucked for sure but how many high pressure situations has our pen been in this year? Also the 8Th inning pitch calling was horrible when we had 2 strikes. One game in June won't define this club.
Zero snap to that "slider". Never seen someone who can throw 100 MPH that has stuff which is just not electric. I didn't know it was possible until Giles.
That one hurts. Bullpen blew a 7-1 lead.

If it was going to happen it was going be Hosmer, Perez, or Moustakis. That trio is deadly. Once we didn't score in the 9th I had a bad feeling one of them was gonna walk it off. This needs to cement the decision to get a lights out closer or at least beef the bull pen as well as another quality starter.

Doesn't bother me. Kid will be relied on heavily all year and we will need him in the playoffs. Keep him fresh and only lean on him hard in dire situations. The rest of the pen needs to see as many situations as possible as well.

Might have been rushed a tad. I kinda got that vibe watching Hinch and Strom in the dugout.
