Yeah, that was great. He's a lotta fun to listen to on the radio.
Yeah I'm suprised Michael Connor didn't go on a rant right after Berkman mentioned this.mazag08 said:

If you need more reasons to hate Drayton, apparently Pettite wanted nothing more than a 2nd year on the deal we were offering him (1 yr, 8 mil). He would have signed 2 yrs @ 16 mil and turned down the 3 yr 36 mil offer from the Yankees. We wouldn't budge.
What a **** show.

This year's Astros feel like Aggie football all over again for me. We had an awesome offense and a ****ty defense during the first few years of Sumlin's reign; we go out and get the Chief and have an amazing defense and forget how to freaking move the ball down the field.
Same with this year's Astros. Went out and bought Bats galore, and nobody can freaking hit save for Marwin.
I don't know what Aggie football team you watched. Our defense was far from amazing.....Smell Gibson said:

Holy crap dude, I'm just voicing my opinion on the first 7 games in to the season.nhayden said:Smell Gibson said:

Good gosh, we are 7 games into. 162 game season, not even 5% into the season and you have already written the narrative. Fans like you are just awful and really don't understand baseball.

Wait, you thought our last two Aggie defenses were "amazing"?Smell Gibson said:

So with the Masters going on last weekend the Stros took a bit of a backseat. I was switching back and forth yesterday and keeping up with scores but didn't watch too much.
Also with the amount of cliff jumping and downright absurdness going on in this thread I figured a weekend away from the keyboard wouldn't be such a bad thing.
I know it sounds odd, but hopefully being on the road and away from MMP may settle these guys down a bit and get the offense rolling. I'm pretty confident guys like Altuve, Correa, Bregman, and Beltran will get going. As for the BP I don't know what to think. Gregerson went from being nails to imploding which is really hard to predict. At least for guys like Sipp and Gustave they've been pretty consistently sucky so we know to avoid them.
At least the first trip through the rotation went better than expected. Anyone heard anything on McHugh after being examined last week? It'll be interesting to hear his prognosis and how that will play into our approach as far as trades.

Question. How do you expect a defense to play lights out when their offense goes 3 & out every series so by halftime the defense has played a full games worth of snaps?coastalAg said:Wait, you thought our last two Aggie defenses were "amazing"?Smell Gibson said:

Jesus H Christ you just made me give missey a star you son of a *****. Gonzo is hitting well but so are Springer and Gattis. Altuve, Correa, and Bregman are slumping but will be fine.
The fact that we grabbed 4 out of 7 with three of our best hitters having slow starts is a very good sign.
Gregerson and Giles need to be more consistent. Sipp has put together long stretches of good innings in the past but that seems to be forever ago now. Gustave probably just sucks.
Starting pitching and Devenski have been nails so far. Hopefully it keeps up.

I think Altuve is out of his slump. He hit through the shift twice yesterday, and two of his outs on Saturday were hard hit balls right to the defense.

Why would they schedule a day game on a travel day?
