no...I was agreeing with you! Liriano has been great and I wasnt mad at all at the decision to carry him.
Whatever you do from here on out don't pitch starters on short rest that track record is bad.
I thought lirano and white on the roster were the correct calls. I felt mccugh over gregerson would have made more sense but the rest of the lineup was set correctly imo.
My main concerns this series:
-the use of lirano in game 3 as was pointed out
- not continuing to roll with gattis even against a righty
-pulling peacock in the 4th inning game 3
-burning Verlander so early in game 4 where he wouldn't be avaliable for a game 5 if needed....and then not only burning him but yanking him so early.
The last one worked out and giles looked good but AJ at times concerns me with his reasoning behind some of these moves.

You see managers put starters in relief in the playoffs all the time. They trust their #1 guy to get 3 innings way more than they trust a string of three relievers (even good ones ) for 1 inning each. It always bites you later as now you end up trotting guys out later on short rest. And evidence is its not the first short rest that bites you, its the second one.

There is no point in having White on the roster. We didn't even use him to PH for Mccann against a lefty, so not sure when they were planning on using him. Pretty worthless roster spot, just switch him out for Mchugh.

Hinch was on 790 w/ Matt Thomas just a while ago

-Flight home was a little "extra happy"
-Looking forward to resting at home the next couple days
-Hinch on putting in Verlander: didn't like doing it in middle of the inning; but wanted the best player out there to protect the lead. Felt comfortable going with him up 2-1. Was okay with worst case scenario going home with Dallas starting game 5. Only became a big deal because baseball is results based, if the homer doesn't happen it looks like a good move. Pretty much knew he was going to put in Verlander if they had the lead at some point in the middle of the game. Verlander typically gets better as games go along.
- Felt really comfortable going with Giles in 8th and 9th. Relative no-brainer.
- Bregman is a baseball rat, always engaged. Guys on the team love him. Always debates between batting him 2nd or 6th. Comes up big against left hand pitching.
- Called Beltran at 10pm night before game 4 to tell him he wasn't starting but would need him at some point to pinch hit; Carlos just said lets go win this thing tomorrow
- Will still use analytics in ALCS, that doesn't change. Constantly reviewing strategy and matchups.

I went for game 5/6 (third home game.) I figure I'll either be seeing a game that really matters, or if the series is already over I can put the money toward WS tix.
