I think the Verlander ship has sailed, damn shame because we should've been major buyers this year.

Are we really not going to pull all the strings to get Verlander? That seems like the most obvious move we could possibly make at this time.

Nope apparently Luhnow is a pansy and won't give up anyone not only for Verlander but anyone else. Hes happy just being AL West champs. Everyone enjoy.

I think we coddled DK and McC too much. Had it been a tight races they would have pitched with a soar back and soar neck. They were both lights out even with the injuries before they went on the DL. They sat too long and there timing and touch is off and now they are pressing. And by having AAA guys get there starts the bullpen is over worked and less valuable than a pile of ***** Nolan Ryan would have taken an Advil and made everyone of those starts.

Uh I think Morey and Les do everything in their power to get a championship. You don't just snap your fingers and have a championship caliber roster.

I went to the Astros-Giants game on the Sunday before the strike started (it was the Sunday night ESPN game) and it was the strangest sporting event atmosphere I've ever experienced. It was a combination of anger and some resignation that this was actually going to happen.

I may have been overreacting a bit and Morey does a good job of trying to put a championship caliber team together. I understand that you can't put a championship caliber roster together overnight, heard that before but I guess I'm just tired of "we almost did it this year wait until next year" bit.

just to give you some hope. My source says a deal is being negotiated right now (no guarantee it gets done) and also there is another deal in the works.
I'm semi-hopeful. BUT bringing in another pitcher will only help one of our issues. The other is our offensive slide. Hopefully Correa gets back and has plenty of swings to get his grove back before the playoffs start

You would think we could get to this guy, but for the last three weeks we have made opposing starters with ERA's over 5 all look like Cy Young. Let's see if it happens again tonight. It wouldn't surprise me the way this team is going.

Is the 2nd deal Jose Bautista by chance. He adds depth in 3B and OF that we lost with the Correa, Moran injuries and the Aoki trade. He could also DH. He'd be a cheap rental and maybe a playoff run could get him back into form.MAROON said:

He just told me one other. He didn't specify and I didn't push .
Honestly I'm not convinced any move helps unless Correa, Keuchel, McCullers, Harris, and Gattis are all 100% come playoff time

Apples/Oranges, in basketball two or three superstars and you can win a title, baseball is a lot more complex than two or three superstars.
I tried to watch the replay on FSSW. It's now the 8th inning and the first time they've shown the Astros up to bat. What a ****ing joke. I don't know if I want to catch the Root replay at 1 or not.

Not sure if you have to have a subscription or not but the "Condensed Game" on the MLB.TV app on roku and stuff is a great way to watch a game you missed. Typically 15 minutes long give or take. Shows the result of nearly every player appearance.

"Sore" is the word you're looking for. "Soar" is something that the birds do.

I have MLB with Uverse, but nothing other than that. That does sound pretty awesome, though.
I swear I'm gonna be furious at the rangers for not having a roof if it rains tonight. 40% chance.
