Bregman is slick
That's really the story of the night. He's coming through in a month when we needed him most.astros4545 said:

I have to say... I like the drums.
Imagine if there was a point later in the game, say the 7th inning, where between innings the crowd would all sing a song to signify their love for this sport. No dancing needed, but maybe an opportunity for fans to stretch their legs and get ready for the final inningsirish pete ag06 said:Same.Kashchei said:

I think baseball could use a lot more stadium ambience stuff like soccer has. Have some songs that are sang every inning. Have chants that are done in certain situations every time. etc.
I know. I'm talking during play. Maybe chants are more appropriate. I loved the damn "Jose" chant the other night when he was up in a big spot. I think that stuff is neat.astros4545 said:Imagine if there was a point later in the game, say the 7th inning, where between innings the crowd would all sing a song to signify their love for this sport. You absolutely have to find a different way to entertain yourself at a soccer game.... That stuff is boring as *****irish pete ag06 said:Same.Kashchei said:

Really can't say enough about this...but I'm ready to see the rotation get back into order and fortified.agdaddy04 said:
So June 5th was the last win of our 11 game win streak and we had a 14 game lead in the division. Since then we've had to start guys that were in the bullpen or minors last month. Now we have a 13 game lead after all of that. Pretty impressive what this team has accomplished so far.
Yeah, I was looking at this too, but then looked at our opponent list and isolated the differences and schedule difficulty for both. I removed any games that offset (e.g., a 4 game series at home & 3 game on the road against the same team netted a single game at home)...TXAG14 said:
26-8 on the road (best in the MLB). 23-16 at MMP (Tied for 8th). Probably the most surprising stat for me this season.
Also, the Athletics are 22-16 at home. 22-13 before this series.TXAG14 said:

Anyone know how the other AL pitchers compare in June? Could we get a 3rd pitcher of the month with 3 different pitchers?

We have those already. its called the 7th inning stretch.
No one else needs to pick up things Oakland is doing to generate atmosphere because their stadium blows, their team blows, no one comes to the game, and their city is a dump.
Those things are great in soccer, but let them stay in soccer.

We gotta give a lot of credit to Hinch too. He has kept the team focused, and the way he's managed the pitching staff has been very impressive. He took a lot of abuse on this board over the last few years, so he should share in the praise we are all showering on the team now.
