That's really the story of the night. He's coming through in a month when we needed him most.

6 hours of #hinched is sometimes enough.

Same.

I think baseball could use a lot more stadium ambience stuff like soccer has. Have some songs that are sang every inning. Have chants that are done in certain situations every time. etc.

Imagine if there was a point later in the game, say the 7th inning, where between innings the crowd would all sing a song to signify their love for this sport. No dancing needed, but maybe an opportunity for fans to stretch their legs and get ready for the final innings

I know. I'm talking during play. Maybe chants are more appropriate. I loved the damn "Jose" chant the other night when he was up in a big spot. I think that stuff is neat.

49-24. Going for 50th win before we play our 75th game. Unreal.

So June 5th was the last win of our 11 game win streak and we had a 14 game lead in the division. Since then we've had to start guys that were in the bullpen or minors last month. Now we have a 13 game lead after all of that. Pretty impressive what this team has accomplished so far.

You absolutely have to find a different way to entertain yourself at a soccer game.... That stuff is boring as *****

It's not quite as hilarious for these types of wins because of his performance, but its tradition damnit.

We have those already. its called the 7th inning stretch.

No one else needs to pick up things Oakland is doing to generate atmosphere because their stadium blows, their team blows, no one comes to the game, and their city is a dump.

Those things are great in soccer, but let them stay in soccer.

Really can't say enough about this...but I'm ready to see the rotation get back into order and fortified.

Fiers has been a different guy since his 24 hour demotion, Peacock has been a nice surprise, McHugh will be back after the ASB, etc....but between those guys and Musgrove (who seems to be good for about 5 innings before he blows-up), I'm not at ease going into any of those games.

I've humbled myself at the altar of Jeff Luhnow after being wrong about his abilities over the last year, so I have faith that he'll find the solution to solidify the whole thing.

We gotta give a lot of credit to Hinch too. He has kept the team focused, and the way he's managed the pitching staff has been very impressive. He took a lot of abuse on this board over the last few years, so he should share in the praise we are all showering on the team now.

26-8 on the road (best in the MLB). 23-16 at MMP (Tied for 8th). Probably the most surprising stat for me this season.

Yeah, I was looking at this too, but then looked at our opponent list and isolated the differences and schedule difficulty for both. I removed any games that offset (e.g., a 4 game series at home & 3 game on the road against the same team netted a single game at home)...

Our wins have come against a harder schedule on the road. Especially the 3-1 in New York and the sweep of Minnesota... We beat GOOD opponents on the road, which bodes well for the playoffs.

HOME - (.492)
1 - SEA (.500)
2 - ATL (.465)
3 - BAL (.493)
3 - BOS (.556)
4 - DET (.451)
4 - LAA (.493)
4 - TEX (.493)

AWAY - (.507)
1 - KCR (.493)
2 - OAK (.431)
3 - TBR (.520)
3 - MIA (.457)
3 - MIN (.522)
4 - NYY (.565)

Also, the Athletics are 22-16 at home. 22-13 before this series.

Which do you think is more likely to even out:

Us losing more on the road, or winning more at home?

Anyone know how the other AL pitchers compare in June? Could we get a 3rd pitcher of the month with 3 different pitchers?

I didn't say we needed drums. I just said I like stuff that creates a unique ambience. Could you imagine 42K in MMP chanting "Jose" every time he comes to bat or at least in pressure situations. Would be awesome.

If we could fire idiot Hinch and hire a real manager we would be at 60 wins already.

It looks like it will be between Fiers, Alex Meyer (Angels), and Corey Kluber (Indians). At this point I think you'd have to give it to Kluber.

Mike Fiers
IP: 25.1
W-L: 3-0
WHIP: 0.99
ERA: 1.42
H: 17
ER: 4
BB: 8
SO: 21

Alex Meyer
IP: 22.2
W-L: 1-1
WHIP: 1.19
ERA: 1.19
H: 15
ER: 3
BB: 12
SO: 27

Core Kluber
IP: 28.0
W-L: 3-0
WHIP: 0.71
ERA: 1.61
H: 16
ER: 5
BB: 4
SO: 39
