Springer lunged and cut off a ball in the gap, turned and made a jump throw falling back toward the wall that made its way on a hop to Correa out past 2nd, Correa threw a laser to Gattis to nail the trailing runner. Lesser arm on the relay might have thrown him out as well, but the arm basically saved us the run because Gattis would have been called for blocking the plate if he wasn't out by a mile.

He's talking about how home plate should be a "plane" like in football. To keep injuries down. Guess it's a big deal now that the Yankees top prospect has to have Tommy John surgery.
I can easily see being upset based on the rule, but the catcher has to be able to go catch the damn throw pulling him up the line as well, and there was no way the runner was ever going to be safe there regardless. Like I said, if the ball hadn't so obviously beat him to the plate, he would have been called safe, imo. Umpire has a lot of discretion in that rule.

The only arm I trust is Devo. And that's sad. We need a solid closer before the deadline.
