Not oh well. You don't get the last out on a SB with Springer up.

this was one of those series where you have to question the "strategic advantage" if any Hinch gives the Astros

This team is so bad right now.

The division lead will be 8 games or less by the ASB just wait.

Hinch makes some dumb decisions! Took the bat right out of Springer's hands

With 1 out and Aoki up, no problem trying to steal. However, Springer could win the game in 1 swing. I don't understand that steal attempt at all.

This. Dumb.

3 series lost, 3-6 homestand...road sweet road! McCullers coming back, hearing Morton is close, what's the deal with Keuchel?

Oh well. Can't wait for some of these playoff AL teams to face Keuchel and McCullers.

Sure felt like the Red Sox were playing at home tonight instead of the Astros.

Tough breaks. Red Sox are damn lucky to win that one. Good time to get back on the road and see the beat up on the As.
Not much luck needed. We left way too many runners on base tonight

Yes, why take the AB away from Springer?

A single from Springer ties it with Fisher on second. I think stealing was the right call. It didn't work out. We lost the game in 3-15 with RISP of whatever it was.

Look if I get to blame hinch for it I'm all about getting out the pitchforks. If hinch had a set, he wouldn't have even been in to make that call because he would have stood up for Yuli and gotten tossed too.

Yep, the steal attempt was a good call. Just have to execute it, which we did. Just a great throw and tag, just like the home-plate one in the 8th. A base hit ties it and that''s always more likely than a homerun.

Astros are in a funk and need to shake out of it.

George can also easily hit a gapper. Stealing was a questionable call

I understand trying to steal there. You very likely aren't going to string together 2 hits off Kimbrel. Took an absolute perfect throw from Vazquez.

Also, it took an absolute perfect throw from Benintendi to get Altuve also. Red Sox made some plays. Balls didn't find grass when we needed them to. We are still in great shape.

At least the Rangers and Angels lost today. Still lead by 11.

Yep. Red Sox are legit - which is pretty much every year. But, so are the Astros this year. Hoping to shake outta the funk soon.

Could very likely play them again in October.

It's only questionable now because of the known outcome. If that throw was slightly off, Fishers on second and then nobody is talking about it being a questionable call.

Agree to disagree. I'll take my chances with springer at bat and not the chance of running into the final out.

I must say, I like the "ole! ole ole ole!" chant when Altuve was up in the 7th or 8th... I could get behind and ole chant.

For sure. Let's make sure we have home field advantage.

Also... Astros are 4-8 over their last 12, but have scored 60 and allowed 60. Things will get better.

Oh ****, I had my toddler running around, so I couldn't hear it good. That would make a hell of a lot more sense.

Kimbrel was throwing around 100. Fisher was consistently checked at 1st. Vasquez is great at throwing runners out. Fisher had 13 stolen bases and 10 caught stealing in the minors this year. One of your best power hitters is at bat with Altuve and Correa behind him. It certainly is a questionable play with 2 outs in B9 down 1.

The folks off on the 1st base side sounded like Jose and the drunks behind me (3rd base) were singing Ole.

Also **** David Price and his slow ass. Jesus that was a long game

Good god.....david price was the reason the game lasted as long as it did. He takes forever between pitches.

At this rate I'd rather not. We're so much better on the road.

3 things I learned last night:

1. David Price is a whiny little girl who pouts when he doesn't get pitches outside the zone called strikes by taking even longer between pitches.

2. How nice of ESPN to talk about how both team's outfielders are superb, but only show the range chart for the Red Sox...

3. The home plate umpire can be unbelievable bad at calling balls/strikes, even with a virtual strikezone on the screen at all times, and no broadcast crew will even think about saying how horrible the umpire is at his job.

really grinds my gears that Greg Gibson won't even get a slap on the wrist from the MLB. He could be calling balls/strikes with his ass facing the mound and the MLB would still protect him like an endangered species.
