Gary Pettis is an unsung hero. What he did as the third base coach this postseason may have been the greatest display of a base coach I have ever seen. He may have gotten lucky with the yanks pathetic defensive catcher but his aggressive nature helped win the championship. Fantastic job!

Born and raised in Houston and it was like a dream to actually see MY team and MY city get that storybook ending that seemed like it only happened in other cities like Cleveland or Boston or even Chicago ending their drought.

It's an incredible feeling and I couldn't be happier for this team, staff, front office, and organization.

I'm sure we all did what we could to help the Astros this year, but I would like to nominate my son, A&M Class of '05 for special consideration. He's been saving a copy of that Sports Illustrated mag from 2014 with George Springer on the cover for three years. After game 4 against the Yankees when the Astros blew a 4-0 lead, he took scissors to it and turned it into confetti. Had to make sure it couldn't contribute to a jinx. I think Springer should share the MVP award with him.
And I'm going to be looking for a copy of that thing to buy for his Christmas gift.
