In the past 30 yrs, only four times has the home team won each of the first 5 games of a 7 game series.
Games 6 and 7 went to the home team in all of those series. (most notoriously the DBacks in the 2001 WS vs.... you know)

All is not lost. I'm not being a sunshine pumper, but damn. We are getting to watch late October baseball from a team just a few years ago had a 100 loss season. I'm disappointed in the showings in New York, but I will take this disappointment in a heartbeat over that feeling. I love the fact that, even though they are struggling, the Astros are relevant again.
and not to be a wet blanket, but I don't see either the Astros or Yankees beating the Dodgers. They are the most complete team left.

What kills me is how good the SP really has been all series.
Keuchel dominates G1, Verlander does his thing G2, Morton is filthy in G3 but some ****ing fluke hits drive him out. McHugh dominates his BP relief and McCullers is stellar in his start.
If you had showed their pitching lines I wouldn't think we would be losing this series.

Ugh 2004 NLCS bad memories. Awesome ending to game 5 then 2 clunkers in st Louis.
Something tells me a Houston team will probably be the first do it.

At the cubs game right now and the fix is on. Jake A getting squeezed and zone expands when cubs bat. MLB wants a NYC LA World Series. Astros need to do what the cubs are doing and just hit bombs on pitches outside the zone.

I would be livid if I was a Cubs fan. He missed the ball completrly and after a "discussion " they called it a foul tip. That is insane!!!
Well Davis got him anyways but now the Cubs don't have their manager for the rest of the game.

Weird...I'm not worried about pitching, but I am overly concerned about the bats. Reddick, Beltran, McCann and Bregman are 0 for forever...maybe move Reddick down? Move Springer down?

I'm hoping Verlander and MMP will get the bats going. Anything can happen if we can switch the misfortune with bats up and post a win. From that point anything can happen at home in game 7. There isn't a SP in baseball right now that you would rather have the ball in that situation. Can't keep this lineup down forever. And, no, I don't think we move Springer out of batting first.

I do. I was referring to game 6. The way we're pressing, I don't envision us mounting much of an attack, so a little more luck might be in order. And building a lead like that at home with Verlander on the mound would be a different scenario.
Obviously JV in game 6, and hopefully he can get us through a large portion of the game. And pray to the Lord above he gets some run support - anything, please......
IF we get to a game 7, what's the plan? Think we start LMJ (on short rest)? Morton? See how far either can get, then go with Peacock and maybe Keuchel for an inning or two? Who else out of the pen in a game 7?
