They've always been my third team after the Astros and Rangers. 2nd team now that the Astros are in the AL West. A lot of players that are easy to root for this season.

The only ones of note are ABD and Nick Martinez. ABD was signed off of an Indy league and Nick Martinez could start putting it together, but I think he is controlled..

I just don't take myself (nor baseball) too serious. I love the game. Love winning. But it is a game for losing. At 25% success, you can make millions. Hell, Nap and Gallo are doing it at 20%. We applaud and celebrate players when they fail 75% of the time. And that likely doesn't even include a Run Scored.

I think I've seen a P walk 3 consecutive batters to start an inning, then strike out the next 3 guys. What do you do with a guy who has a line of 1.0 IP, 3 BB, 3 SO, 0 ER. Do you celebrate the fact he was able to get out of the inning? Or do you hate that he gave up 3 BB?

Top to bottom... it is hard to find a bright spot in the organization.

AAA Round Rock: 45-53 (3rd). 17.5 GB
AA Frisco: 11-16 (3rd); finished 4th in 1st H (31-39)
A+ Down East: 12-15. 6.0 GB; finished 4th in 1st H (24-45)
A Hickory: 14-13 (4th); finished last (7th) in 1st H (27-43)
Spokane (Short-season): 14-20 (3rd)
Az Rookie League: 10-10 (3rd)

RR has some intriguing hitters: Guzman, Profar, Nicholas, but the roster is mostly aging retreads, or not-so-highly regarded players.
Frisco has a number of SP to watch - YoMen, Jurado, Wiles, Sadzeck, Payano, et al. But, not so much on the hitting front.
Most interesting at Spokane for me, is Cole Ragans.
Az Rookie League has some interesting guys. Obviously none that I had heard of before the Rangers drafted them. 3 or 4 of them might actually be good enough for the common Rangers fan to ever hear their name.

Which leads to the Trade Deadline. Time to start getting to know some new players.
