Maybe it's just me, but I have the most confidence in AJ Griffin out of anyone on our pitching staff. He consistently hits his location and that leads to effective outings even though he doesn't have overpowering stuff. he must not be listening to a word Brocail says

I say let Chirinos play catcher, and stick Lucroy at first. Of course, what do you do with Nap then?

I'm not saying Lucroy to 1st would or wouldn't be a good idea, but that is the one upside to not having any of these guys locked up long-term -- you don't really have to bend over backwards to keep them happy.

Chirinos is the more likely guy to try and plug into the field for some playing time. He came up as a corner infielder. He can definitely play 1st, plus I'm sure he'd be thrilled to do whatever for the extra playing time.

As great as it was to see Griffin get the CGSO (and you could tell in his postgame comments how happy he was to pitch like that in his hometown), I hope Bibens-Dirkx gets a chance to pitch soon before he's sent back down. I'm sucker for the stories about guys like him who grind for forever for that chance. I basically only watched the games at the end of the 2014 season to see Guilder Rodriguez get to play and get his first MLB hit.

I would love to see Chirinos in the lineup more often. He delivers much better at-bats than Lucroy and his defense is above-average. I would hit him in the 6-7 hole.
