Doesn't really matter what Darvish thinks he is -- if he stays healthy the market will make him a $25m/year pitcher.

Yeah, I would agree, although I expect he'll get 20-25 mil/yr. He just goes too deep into the count, but my biggest concern is his health. This is his 5th year, and he's only reached 200IP once. If I'm a team, I can pay 25-30 mil even w/ the walk issues. I wouldn't, however, given the injury issues.

Mazara is twenty freaking one years old and in his second season in the MLB.

With the age of this offense, all it will take to open back up Texas' "window" will be adding a top of the rotation starter if/when Yu walks.

Heard something interesting on the radio today about Felix Hernandez that said he may only have 1-2 years left. They were saying is longevity has greatly decreased to the fact he throws his slider so often. They then compared him to Yu, who is probably expecting a 5+ year deal.

Makes you wonder if Yu's health is going to drop off the table in the next 2-3 years.

The Angels might hate Mazara as much as we hate Kyle Seager. I think he has a hit in every single game played against them in his career.

It's barely been on the table. Took 5 seasons to get 100 starts out of him.

Interesting. I love Yu, but at this point, I think I'd rather lock up Lucroy and use that money to solidify the back end of the rotation. It's really key for Perez to take that step forward this year.

Darvish hasn't thrown 150 innings since 2013... His health can't fall that much more off the table.

I think most teams will look at it from the standpoint that he's already had TJ surgery so that's not really a worry. But yeah, the # he fetches in free agency relies heavily upon how healthy he proves to be this year. If he throws 160+ innings with a WHIP/ERA near his career #'s of 1.19/3.30 then 5years/$25m is a no-brainer.

Not saying it will be a wise investment, but some team will absolutely do it.

I think it had more to do with Elvis selling that he had the ball in his glove than anything.

Of course I say that as he's tossing a really good game so far

Chirinos isn't doing Yu any favors with his framing.

Can't remember exactly where those pitches were, but blue has had an inconsistent zone so far.
