I think the idea is that you don't want to mess with a guy like Gallo's massive power stroke by trying to get him to adjust to hitting to all fields.

I don't like it... Just like I don't like the guys that can't drop down a bunt away from a mega-shift... but I think that's the mindset.

I am hoping it's one of those things that as he matures as a hitter, he starts to go the other way. I checked out fangraphs to see his spray chart vs Adam Dunn. It only goes back to 2012, but from 2012 - 2014, Dunn was all fields hitter. I'd be curious what his early career spray chart looked like. I'm not saying Gallo will have a comparable career to Dunn, but they seem to be very similar. Good eye. Ton of walks. Massive power. Strikes out a lot. Low average.

Elvis having a fantastic start. Finally took that step last year I think we all were expecting after the 2012 season.

look at Joey G with another walk. And the at bat he was called out on was total BS on a 3-2 count

I think Elvis finally matured a bit. He and Holland are always cut ups and he still is, but he knows how to get down to business now too.

Elvis is just killing the ball. Maybe the adjustment he made last season takes him to new places offensively.

Incredibly impressed with Gallo too. Walk there and the one K he has today was a bad called 3rd strike in a full count. Seems like his confidence just keeps growing.

Obviously Gallo is no Beltre, and we definitely want him back asap, but this prolonged absence has really allowed Joey to build some much-needed confidence. Also takes away some of the urgency of getting Beltre back out there. Can let him heal up completely.

Raymond is fine as long as he's not announcing anything exciting... He describes what happens very well, but he describes a 3-run walk-off in the same way he does a routine grounder to 2nd.

CJ seems like a... less ******y CJ. Well-versed on a lot of topics and he seems to be prepared.
