So what do you do with dyson right now? I think he is actually a good pitcher. but clearly not a closer...and he just doesnt seem to have his stuff right now at all

Talk about being a slow learner. The end of 2015 signaled Tolleson was done; but Banny had to learn the hard way. Now its happening all over again.

Grieve and Raymond was just horrible. I'm warming up to CJ. I feel like he is providing some good insight to the game. I'm still not a fan of Raymond, but he is better with CJ.

I do kind of miss having the connection to Rangers' history that you had with Busby and Grieve in the booth.

Should have been pulled after the walk. Terrible managing there. His body language was s***. His pitches were s***. No excuse for leaving him in.

It's ok Bannister, these games don't mean as much as those in September, until we lose the division by a few games of course.

Jeffers has a 9th inning arm, I just don't know if he has a 9th inning head.

EDIT: Forgot about him closing in Milwaukee. He should be given the next save opportunity but I have no faith that he will.

If a guy isn't getting the job done, FORGET about his effing track record. Especially as a closing pitcher. Who the hell cares. People shouldn't be handed the job. Dyson needs to be pulled from that role and earn his playing time back. Don't care to hear any other arguments. Jeffress was an actual closer. Use him

Such a depressing stop ending series

Dyson can't find his sinker consistently, and even when he does find it, hitters are getting more disciplined about laying off and letting it miss low for a ball. And this trend goes back to August. The book on him is to mostly just stand there, take a ****load of balls, and make him eventually groove one.

I have no idea why he's closing when they have at least 2 guys with better stuff. It's not like he is a long-time closer. He had the job for a few months.

Sucks to see, but I've got no problem with Bannister going with Dyson there. He earned that position. He looked like crap in Game 1... You give him a chance to redeem himself... He looked like crap again.

Now you make the switch.

I don't have an issue sending him out for the 9th for redemption but leaving him in after loading the bases and then walking a run in is inexcusable.

Eh... Not inexcusable. Didn't work out. This is how Bannister runs the team, not hard to figure out... Same way he managed in 2015 and 2016. He'll go to the well and find out who are going to be his guys and who are not.

I agree with you guys that I woulda gone to Jeffress there, just saying it's not really a shock that he didn't -- it's how he managed the last two years. The hope is that what he's potentially sacrificing now helps in the long run.
