Thats definitely the reason and Bannisters thinking... he is shorthanded on effective relievers and wants/needs Dyson to return to form - but this isnt Mariano Rivera... Dyson doesnt have the skins on the wall to deserve 4 shots in 2 weeks with these results.
I can't get my head around what he was thinking. Anyone is better right now than Dyson until he can get some confidence back and more.free_mhayden said:

And for the most part is hasn't been the fault of the starters. It's been all bullpen, and mostly all Dyson
How about Jeffress and Claudio being used for a combined 2/3 of an inning today.
I can understand wanting to get Dyson back on track but that just isn't going to happen in a high pressure situation right now. Let him work through some garbage innings with a huge lead or deficit and leave the one run 9th inning leads to someone who isn't totally ****ed between the ears.

Whatever Kela did, it's past time to bring him back. If what he did was that bad, just get rid of him. The current bullpen management - roster and game- is just pure stubborness and stupidity. i really don't get the kid gloves and respect that a career middle reliever like Dyson is getting.
He put Hauschild in an important spot yesterday and it was the cluser**** everyone knew it would be. It's just pure bullpen mismanagement.

Yep. You're not going to will a reliever to success at this level.
Watching a guy like Dyson implode is painful. But at some point you got to cut your losses.

He should have been throwing garbage innings (like the other night) until getting straight. Now I don't see how he isn't headed to Round Rock or Frisco.

Claudio threw one pitch and was removed. That was stupid as hell. He could have finished that inning.

I think it is more similar to Tollseson's May, which he rebounded from in June.
But it's also similar to Tolleson's July when he was terrible again; and he never pitched again.
His start is very similar to my intestinal tract after a visit to Pancho's for all-you-can-eat enchiladas.

Exactly. There's a point when the player's mindset shifts from "thanks for the confidence, coach" to "why are you putting me in this position vs helping me work through it another way?" Dyson's pitching and body language all seem to indicate the latter to me.
