This morning, we finally have confirmation of the the long-rumored relocation of three franchises owned by Elmore Sports. All moves would occur after the 2018 season:

1. The AAA Colorado Springs Sky Sox will relocate to San Antonio. They'll still be known as the Missions and for the time being will play in Wolff Stadium, which does not meet AAA standards. Last year's attempt to finance a downtown stadium stalled, and I hadn't heard of any movement regarding the issue since.

2. The Missions' AA franchise is moving to a new stadium in Amarillo, which last had affiliated ball in 1982. (Incidentally, Corpus Christi's shortest bus trip in 2019 will be the 440 miles to Frisco.)

3. Finally, the Helena Brewers will relocate to Colorado Springs and stay in the short-season Pioneer League.

League rules preclude any announcement regarding affiliation changes until next September, but in all likelihood, Texas's AAA squad will play in San Antonio in 2019, while the Astros will resume occupancy in Round Rock after eight years in the wilderness. All moves are contingent on approval by the various leagues and the offices of MiLB and MLB.

I'm going to first ever Rangers game tonight. My ticket says use gate CF. Where should I park?

So, this has been in the works for quite some time. I thought the deal was stalled or dead, because San Antonio didn't agree to build a new stadium.

I just looked and it appears they struck a deal to pay 70% of renovations, with the Owner picking up the rest, in a 5 year deal. This should be huge for San Antonio moving to AAA, and eventually making the jump to MLB. I wonder if the plan might be to get the team\city to AAA with enough amenities and improvements to get broader support, and then build a MLB stadium, instead of a AAA one?!

The Rangers (OKCity) and Astros (Round Rock) flipped AAA teams when Nolan Ryan joined the Rangers. Now that he is with the Astros, Round Rock is going to affiliate with the Astros. The Dodgers came in and signed Okie City, which kinda leaves the Rangers without a AAA.

The Dodgers were in Albuquerque, which is now a Colorado Affiliate. Colorado's old affiliate was Colorado Springs, which is now in the Brewer's camp.

Brewers had Nashville, which is now with Oakland.

Oakland was in Sacramento, which is now with SF Giants.

SF had Fresno... Fresno currently has Houston.

And on and on it goes.

Probably all caused by Nolan Ryan joining the Rangers and then leaving for Houston.

Elmore Sports Group has the following teams:

AAA - Colorado Spring Skysox
AA - San Antonio Missions
A+ - Inland Empire 66Ers (Anaheim)
SS - Eugene Emeralds (Padres) - NW League with Spokane (Rangers)
Rk - Idaho Falls (KC Royals) <- They appear to be moving the Colorado Springs.

I won't hold my breath on a MLB franchise in San Antonio.

Did anyone see this? It was allegedly said "jokingly," but Joe West called Beltre the biggest complainer in the game. That is laughable at best. Joe West is the absolute worst.

I think Beltre and West like to rag/mess with each other. Beltre's a jokester and talker on the field, so is West.

I'm not saying West is a good umpire or nkt a blow hard but I think he's just messing with Adrian there.

The anecdote about Pudge in spring training was humorous:

They talked about this during the game last night. Apparently Beltre yells "outside!" after almost every pitch when he's in the dugout, no matter who's batting. It's just a big joke, and all the more reason to love Beltre

He always does it. Adrian is tongue in cheek and Joe West knows that. As they were talking about it I was astounded they were even discussing it like it was in any way scandalous. I don't know if Raymond and Grieve are just that tone def or if they were trying to drum up controversy for some reason but it was the second most annoying part of the night right behind the half game discussion of how many times TCU has eliminated us.
