Grab a bat and helmet and get out there and do it then

All Gallo has to do is pull a 3-1 fastball and we score. I can't stand the lack of situational hitting.

Gallo is not ever going to be a good situational hitter. He will be feast or famine.

I can assure you that I could hit a grounder to the right side against this guy if I was given 2 ab's

Lead with that next time you want to try and say you can do something better than a professional baseball player

I played college ball for 2 years. Happy now.
Exactly. He's a dead pull hitter. If it goes to left field it wasn't on purpose.cevans_40 said:AccidentProne said:

I didn't say I could carry a .300 average or hit 30 bombs. Just little things that this team continues to fail to execute grow frustrating. Hopefully you can understand that asking a guy like Gallo (a dead pull hitter) to pull a ball with a runner on 2nd and no outs isn't asking too much.

Then you should know that with a 1-strike count with nobody out and a runner in scoring position that you aren't wanting your biggest slugger to try and roll one on the ground.
He's there to knock runners in, not move runners over.

I don't want him to hit a grounder. Just pull anything. A fly ball to right works the same as a grounder to 2nd. Were you hoping for an opposite field homer?

I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't matter now though.AccidentProne said:

Which is why Gallo saw up and in and low and away -- pitches that he's not going to pull on the ground.
Most hitters know what they are trying to do when they go to the plate -- the funny thing that people often miss is that these are stud pitchers that know what location to throw the ball in order to prevent it.

Me too but I rewinded my dvr and he appeared to nick the inside corner of the bag.

He was a day late (on a guy that tops out at 93) on both pitches he flied to left. I am not, by any means, claiming to as good as these guys but in 2 situations where anything on the right side of the field would move the runner, Gallo couldn't get it done. I would be criticizing coaching if they asked him to bunt, but he has to be able to pull the ball in those situations.
