Yep, really like this. No reason to have Moreland and Fielder in the lineup together until they turn things around at the plate. Profar should be able to get a lot of starts.

And if Prince somehow turns it around, it makes the offense that much better with Profar doing what he's doing right now. Hell, you could even put Profar at SS and DH Elvis a couple of times and I wouldn't immediately say you're wasting that spot, the way he's been playing recently.

538 goes based off power ratings and home field and stuff like that and does predictions. It's pretty interesting to look at and follow.

Looking at Fielder's splits, it would appear he has played 1B twice in 2016, and played 18 times in 2015.

With Moreland a FA after this season, I wouldn't mind seeing Fielder improve his mobility to play 1st, allowing us to move Moreland. That would let us keep Profar up.

Then... we have more flexibility with our situation. Gallo\Profar then get more opportunity.

Even if we lose Desmond and Moreland after 2016, we could use Profar (CF) and Gallo (DH\1B) to fill-in for 2017.

BTW... I heard listening to one of the games... that Andrus got his 1167th H (all with Rangers, of course).

Guess where that put him all-time in Rangers history!

Fielder costs too much to be gone next year.

If there isn't a major turnaround I'd say it's a foregone conclusion that Mitch won't be back.

At least the Rangers will have some major league ready assets come trade deadline. Not a terrible thing

Heck, I could handle paying half his remaining salary, but I think it'll take something more along the lines of the Hamilton dump where the Angels basically pay everything to have him leave.

But, I'm holding out hope that all he needs was a couple days off and an upcoming series vs the Astros.

It doesnt appear that he is a bad teammate its just he cant hit worth a damn....I have zero problems keeping him....can we get him to start eating meat?

I don't see any circumstance in which he would return.

Profar getting reps at 1B... looks like he takes Alberto's Util position and sucks up every AB available.

I think Mitch is gone as soon as they can.

Profar is a switch hitter, Moreland and Fielder are both Lefties.

No reason to platoon two Lefties (Moreland and Fielder) at 1st.

I think if the Rangers could move BOTH Moreland and Fielder, they would. Take that $18M on Fielder and either sign Desmond or use it towards Darvish.

No issues with Fielder at 1st. Not like he can do much worse than Moreland. I like that we're shuffling profar around creatively. He should be at DH, 2nd or SS to give guys days off. Keeps everyone fresh and also competitive.
