I don't disagree with you at all, I just think you can't have it both ways. You can't allow the neighborhood play at second and then call guys out on replay when they come off the bag for a split second.

Honestly, more than the "neighborhood" play in my opinion is the 4-6-3 double play. Watch and see how many times the shortstop will come across and he does touch the bag...but before he's received the throw from the second baseball. He's on and then back off the bag before ever having the ball. See that all the time. It's looks so graceful and perfectly executed though nobody ever says anything about it.

I agree 100% you can't have it both ways. What I'm saying is I haven't seen the phantom sweep lately. There's no doubt a manager would challenge that if they thought the bag wasn't touched.

I can't remember the last time I saw someone challenge that.
Pretty sure it just happened in the Dodgers-Mets series. On the Utley slide they reviewed the play and determined he missed touching second on the double play attempt.
