IMO any player who didn't get a signing bonus in the millions should absolutely take a deal like that, and **** the Bud Norris's of the world and the union. The most important money of your whole life is the first money you get. The millions that really change your life are the first millions, not some hopeful second set of millions you might get years later if you wait.

It could be someone like Carter, who knows no matter what he does he isn't part of next year's plans.

But that would require him to not only speak, but to actually care about something.

All but the processing fee should be refunded. That includes the face value as well as the convenience fee.
