1.5 out of the WC.
IIRC, Sardinas was given one of Wash's legendary pancake gloves to improve his D.
He is just 21... but looking at his minor league fielding percentage... there is plenty of room for improvement.
His D at 2nd has been much better than at SS.
Having said that... Odor has been very, very impressive. When Profar went down, Wash was quoted as saying that while Profar was more highly regarded, it was only that he had swagger and a sense of maturity. Wash indicated all 3 were right about the same place talent-wise.
His increased playing time could to showcase in a trade or it could be to keep him improving (not leaving him stale on the bench).
Odor is about 1 year younger than Sardinas, and it is hard to believe that at 20... Odor isn't solidifying himself as the 2B. If you can ship him at the deadline for some SP... for say
Jeff Samardzija who is 29 with 1 more year of Arb... That'd REALLY help. Holland back in July and it would be time to get optimistic.
The lines at 2B:
Kinsler: .285\.317 OBP\ .758 OPS \ 6HR in 270 ABs === .996F5
32 - $16M
Odor: .286\.307 OBP\.747 OPS \ 2HR in 84 ABs === .984 F%
20 - League Minimum: ($525k?)
