Agree, although I was reading TLS is hitting well since Sept 15 with 1 strikeout in 34 ABs in that span. And we all know Castro has been blazing hot and been pretty good against Cole. I know Coghlan has struggled as of late but may be surprising to give Kyle the nod over him.

I trust Maddon but I'm curious to see how close I get.

Hendricks surprises me. I guess that means Haren or Hammel would start a potential Game 2 of the NLDS. Although if he doesn't pitch tonight Hendricks would obviously be available for that start.

I trust Maddon has some match up he's waiting for with Hendricks.

I like that lineup. I think as long as we get 4 runs, it's a win. The anxiety is killing me.

Kinda curious why Maddon was all about hitting the pitcher 8th all year but not tonight. The obvious guy to debate is La Stella but hard to argue with his recent performance and ability to not strike out. I think I might have gone Soler in RF, Schwarber in LF and Bryant at 3B. But I definitely support Maddon as he's pushed a lot of the right buttons this year.

And Joe has been batting the pitcher 9th a lot more frequently lately, mostly with Arrieta and Lester on the mound. I think it's because he expects them to pitch deeper into games.

I agree that Hendricks is surprising for the WC roster since they'll reset for the NLDS. Is that any indication that Hendricks will get the game 2 start over Hammels?

Only saying four, because my gut tells me Arrieta gives up a run or two after 8 innings. Would love to go into the ninth with a two run lead at least.

Because Arrieta can hit dingers.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the Pirates under Hurdle are notorious for hitting people. They went inside on 2 Cubs before arrieta hit their first batter (which I think was intentional). Then I think the 2nd was an accident since it was a breaking ball with a guy on.
