Maybe not, but your team just gave 11 mill a year for five years to a guy who has started more than 25 games twice since 2002. Kudos.

first, its been three times, second of all, he's only had 2 injury plagued seasons. Ben Sheets, since 2004 started, can't seem to actually stay on the mound without his arm falling odd

no one seems to be interested in him besides the Rangers. Everything i've heard so far this off-season about sheets is that teams are staying away from him. He's averaged around 28 starts every year and over 160 innings, so its not like he's had serious injury after serious injury, but instead alot of minor ones in a row.

I hope the Rangers find away to clear some payroll and offer him a 2 yr 28mil contract.

They may not be major injuries now, but as Sheets gets older those minor injuries will probably turn into major ones. I think this is why you aren't seeing teams give him a long term deal. You'll probably see him sign for a 3 year deal.

New info on texasrangers.com says he is a person of interest and that we are the only team that has showed interest. JD is still in contact with Sheets' agent but no offer has been made.

According to the "little ball of hate" Jennifer Engel, Sheets could sign with us as early as Monday. Don't know the credibility, but interesting none the less.

"Terrible news" for Petitte is relative. He has made tens of millions of dollars in his career and will get a hefty pension when he retires. I don't think he has been playing because of the money for a while.

$4M is $4M. He doesn't need the money, but if he cared enough to gripe about a paycut from $16M to $10M, another $4M has to at least make you take a hard look at who your agent is.
