Wemby has played like ass on offense, but I have really liked what I have seen from Devin and Fox.

Our bench isn't remotely close to theirs. I still think we need Harper off the bench.

Devin looks pretty yoked. Fox is Fox again.

Feels like other than a couple of drives Harper has been invisible (ok he just scored). Still thinks he gets to eat more coming off the bench. This iso/vibes offense is making me uneasy

Just didn't shoot well enough tonight. Oh well, 81-1 will do.

Wemby standing outside the arc most of the game, OKC packing the paint with two bigs disrupting our slashing and cutting offense… while we can't make any outside shot. Playing small the entire game…

Game 1 of 82, hopefully Tobias is healthy soon and we can get Reed minutes. Don't know why Mitch refuses to play size

Just don't understand how an NBA coach can't figure out a way to get a 7'6" phenom an easy bucket to get him going.

Odd rotations. Especially the lineup at the end when the game was still in striking distance.

We got all season to figure it out but surely we can find a second unit that can be competitive. This is the kind of game that Harris will help with once healthy. We had basically zero down low scoring threat with Wemby shooting so poorly.

I think going with all our stars at once to start is a terrible decision.

I think Bryant will be a big part of the second unit. He was just to amped up tonight.

I think they all were till half.

Hey don't **** with the vibes, man. Pop's pool boy rolled the ball out there, he can't make every shot for them.

I'll say what I said last season. This doesn't have to be hard. Dust off the beautiful game flex offense and this team is damn near unbeatable and doesn't have to hit 40% from three to win.

This hero ball ******ry gonna end in another frustrating playoffs loss for this team.

When did Wemby ever go down low? He was a lazy chucker on offense and Mitch did nothing but stand there with his arms folded like a little sycophant.

Where are POP's old assistants? Someone should have drilled the jump at the first pump fake out of him by now.

I agree with you. Wemby should have forced the issue down low when he was struggling.

I think the waves of 7 footers were effective against him tonight. Wemby will default to the perimeter if you let him. It's in his DNA. Mitch or another team leader has to press the issue with him to force him to be a post presence on offense.

This is why I think Harris will be a nice addition. When Wemby has one of these games where he refuses to get in the post then you now have another reliable post scorer.

Still wish we had addressed 3 pt shooting a bit more this off-season. Easier said than done but feel like the Spurs are still way too streaky there. I know some were late shots when down big but jacking up 37 3s at at 27% rate isn't good, especially when your opponent hits a scorching 45%.

Exact same problem as last year for the offense in game 1.

I really hope so. The kid just gets so wound up.

Bryant with just 6 minutes tonight. Was definitely amped up and missed the three threes he took but they weren't bad shots. Felt like we could have used his defense. I thought it was odd he didn't get much run after Q1.

Champ with a massive -24 in 30 minutes of game play on just 3 of 8 shooting. Felt like Bryant should have gotten a few of those minutes.

I give it less than 10 games before fox is moved to the bench. This 3 guard line up is idiotic. Good to see fox play well though.

I want to say I read that our starting line up had a huge plus/minus (like +54), but the issue is the same as last year -- our bench isn't good enough against OKC. A lineup of one of Fox/Harper/Castle plus CB, KJ, Champ and Kornet gets smoked by a lineup of AJ, McCain, Caruso, Cason, and Mara/Hart. Not to mention if SGA is staggered to be out there. OKC's real power is their depth. Against most teams, I don't think it will be an issue but it really makes you miss Tobias for this game.

Spurs Por Vida, and it's a long season, and anything can happen, but OKC looked good. I hate them so much and their style of play. They have so many weapons, well coached and can turn on the intensity very quickly. They were also shooting lights out from 3 which won't happen every night.

I liked the response to being down by the Spurs in 3Q, but hero ball is not the way. Too much talent to not play as a team.

The real problems last night were
1. Wemby was ass on offense
2. Lack of shooting

The Thunder did the same thing that the Knicks and Wolves did. Same thing we do to Houston and LA. Pack the paint. They know Hart/Mara aren't getting called for all the holds. If they pack the paint, they can keep Wemby from operating there and keep the guards from slashing.

We need a flamethrower like McCain in there to take advantage, but playing four slashing guards with questionable shooting makes it easier to defend us. The Knicks proved how exploitable Julian is and OKC took advantage of that, too.

I didnt see anything in Harper last night that showed he can run a half court set but I don't know that we have any actual half court sets so maybe that's not all that important. Fox was the only one looking like an actual PG last night. The blueprint is out on how to beat us and while not every squad has the depth and quality to do it as obviously as OKC did last night, the concepts are still there.

Julian and Kornet both get hunted on defense.

We need to give Reed some time, we know we have a turnstyle down low when 1 isn't out there

Right now I think the only thing Kornet gives you over Reed is experience. Kornet is a step or two slower on defense, Reed is significantly better on the boards, and much more athletic. We're not losing anything on offense and we're gaining a lot.

I can see the desire to play Kornet against OKC, but as we start playing lesser teams we need to get Reed in the rotation. OKC wasn't scared to go with Mara, and we shouldn't be scared to get Reed experience immediately.

Reed is 23, he is older than Wemby, Castle, Harper and Bryant. Kind of disappointed that he didnt get at least a few minutes last night when the game wasnt out of reach.

We shot the ball ****ty and still made a game out of a 20+ point hole. We'll be ok.

Reed will get time, but against OKC when you are trying to crawl out of a hole is absolutely not the time to do it.

Bryant wasn't offering anything extra on defense. SGA was killing him. In fairness sga was killing about everyone, but Bryant wasn't adding anything.

My first dumb fake trade of the year:

Fox and Jordan for Jerami Grant, Ty Jerome, and Cam Spencer. Memphis reboots with Edey, Boozer, Coward, Jaylen Wells and Fox with Pippen, Beef Stew and GG Jackson on the bench. Fox is actually younger than Grant and Jerome.

Grant's contract is dumb, but he's a legit shooter with height and his contract expires next year before Harper's extension kicks in. Jerome would be perfect 6th man. Plus add a flame thrower shooter in Spencer who we should have drafted with one of our billion second round picks.

Wemby/Kornet/Reed
Tobias/Grant/Barnes (Quaintance IR)
Vassell/JuJu/Carter
Castle/Keldon/Spencer
Harper/Jerome/Gillespie (Two-Way)

Comment on the tweet not the trade proposal you made.

It's been 1 game against one of the best teams in the league with something to prove.

I don't love starting all 3 at the same time. Not bc they can't figure it out but bc it kills the rotation later in the game.

Unfortunately, (1) the spurs have to show Fox still has value at his contract after the end of last season. (2) Harper isn't Manu. This isn't a man that went undrafted coming in at 25 years old, he's the #2 pick and 20 years old. More importantly, he has obviously expressed he wants to start where Manu embraced the role.

Talking heads like to talk.

Spurs absolutely have to figure out the right combination of guys that can play together, so who cares of we lose some early season games trying to figure some things out. I hope Mitch gives the 3 guard lineup enough run to effectively figure out how good/mid/bad it really is. It makes it much easier to put Fox or Dylan on the bench if we have 15-20 games of proof that the 3 guard lineup doesn't work.

I'm going to hope that the front office can have professional conversations with both guys about their roles and their value to the team without creating tension that undermines success. At some point if it becomes obvious that Fox has to go, hopefully we can recoup at least some value, but it's most likely that he's a bad contract for bad contract kind of move unless the stars align and a team gets desperate for PG help.
