Blazers take Clingan I assume. And unless the Spurs trade out, they'll have their choice of Carter, Dillingham, Buzelis….
Salaun at 6 is kind of a relief...kinda thought he was a reach and halfway expected it to be our reach at 8.

Players like Brandon Jennings went to play in Europe for a year rather than college. In many cases it is because they can't qualify academically.
Assume Clingan at #7, so Spurs pick from Carter, Buzelis, Knecht, Williams.

Well, the academic thing was what I was thinking, but when has that ever stopped many One and Dones.
I wouldn't have hated Clingan next to Wemby. There I said it. I'm ecstatic with Castle and I'm good with a lot of options at 8.
Last minute curveball, who would it be if it wasn't Carter?

The Spurs are making a bet on Castle, whose ultimate upside is in the eye of the beholder. The 19-year-old national champion is one of the best point-of-attack defenders in the draft. For a player with solid size as a wing, he stays attached to much smaller guards and navigates screens intuitively, flattening himself to slide into the gap between a pick-and-roll. Granted, whatever happens, it'll probably be more successful than the Jeremy Sochan experiment, but these are the questions awaiting the Spurs as they figure out how best to build around their unprecedented star in Victor Wembanyama. Castle has all the winning traits you look for in a player; the Spurs must have the confidence that they can make him a star.
