Philly doesn't even play Buddy Hield. I wonder if they'd hand him over for a bag of churros
He's a free agent. But I'd be willing to entertain a Churro for Cheesesteak trade.Ag Natural said:

Yeah, I responded there. They were saying we should offer this guy 23M/year. Look at this trash. That's Devin Vassel-type money.superunknown said:
Someone on reddit was promoting Patrick Williams too.
The irony is Williams and Vassell were college teammates. Williams was drafted higher but Vassell has clearly been a better player and deserved his contract. Williams didn't get that from the Bulls because he hasn't been good enough. My theory is Williams hasn't agreed to a lesser contract because he's jealous of his former teammate.Guitarsoup said:Yeah, I responded there. They were saying we should offer this guy 23M/year. I don't know if it is jealousy, but he was apparently demanding $20M/year. That's insane for a guy that is 10/4 every year, except for the years he was 9/4.Ag Natural said:The irony is Williams and Vassell were college teammates. Yeah, I think so. I can see us liking him - he was being compared to guys like Kawhi and Millsap as an explosive athlete and defensive wing/pf. Shot 84% from the line, so he would develop a great shot, right?Enzo The Baker said:
It seems like we dodged a bullet. From what I remember, the Spurs were high on Williams. But then again, it's the spurs so you never know the truth in those reports.

Funnny enough, he averaged 9/4 at FSU - basically the same as all 4 years with the bulls.
I can see the Spurs liking him. Great athlete, long wingspan, prospect of high level defense and shooting - seems like Spurs qualities.
Glad we landed Vassell. I remember wanting Deni and then thinking Deni was a huge bust. Would love to have him as our SF now.

This is what sticks out about watching Wemby live more so than on tv. The amount of shots that don't even get attempted just because he's within the vicinity is unreal.

Yes, I agree. Tony Parker was taller and stronger than Dillingham.
The game has changed and a guard the size of Parker is the exception, not the rule now.jteagle said:Guitarsoup said:

I get that you don't like Dillingham but it's actually not a bad comparison. At 19, Parker was not a finished product. He wasn't a good defender and he wasn't a good 3 point shooter. He turned into a HOF player.
I don't know if Dillingham is the right pick, but if the Spurs decide to draft him, it's because they see someone that can become a star. They have a pretty good track record of developing players.
In some ways I think Dillingham has the most upside in a draft where everybody has question marks.
Zac's looking better his last few games. Oh look, and Wright is in France.West Texan said:
This draft is so hard to predict because no one is certain who's going #1 yet. I have no inside knowledge to back this up, but I feel like the Spurs are probably gonna go the safer route rather than taking a guy with a higher boom/bust potential. I really think if Risacher is there, he'll be the pick.

I think Sarr, Risacher, Reed, and Castle are all safer picks.
I'm not high on Topic, either, because he is super ball dominant, he can't play off ball, and puts no effort in defense other than trying to jump passing lanes, which is a Spurs no no.West Texan said:Guitarsoup said:Zac's looking better his last few games. Agreed. I'd throw Cody Williams in that group too.
I also think how we approach the draft depends on what happens with the lottery. If we end up with 2 top 10 picks, then maybe we swing big on one and go safe with the other. If that happens I could see us taking a swing on a guy like Topic or Buzellis with one of our picks and then one of the guys just mentioned with the other.

The NBA is doing a thing now where the top ten players are all ranked. Cody Williams didn't make top ten.
What the thing is is that players were denying teams their medical records and workouts if they didn't want to be drafted by them.
Now the top ten prospects are ranked by the 30 GMs, then are placed in three tiers based on responses.
#1 overall is top tier, and that was Sarr. His medical goes out to the top 10 teams.
#2 tier is Buzelias, Clingan, Castle, Topic, Risacher. (in no particular order) Their medical goes to top 15 teams.
#3 tier is Holland, Dilly, Knecht, and Sheppard. Their results go to 1-25.
Matas is higher than I would have thought. A lot of people are high on Knecht, but I just see him as Tennessee DougMcBuckets.
So it was interesting that Cody was left out completely.

Surprising that Williams was left out of that group. My guess with Buzelis is teams are buying into all the tools and potential that his jumper can become more reliable.
I have a hard time taking anything for Ignite seriously because it was such a trash team. Ignite was just awful for the players and probably set several back multiple years in development.jteagle said:
I'm not real familiar with Buzelis but I did see that in high school he had pretty good shooting stats and this year he was pretty bad. Any idea why? Just better competition or something else.
