I don't think they have really even done anything special defensively.

Kyrie broke his own ankles on that drive.

Such a ****ing joke. Boston is by far the better team but Mavs didn't decide to show up for this one at all.

I remember thinking the same thing after game 1 in 1985. How bout we let this play out?

What is the move for Dallas? Boston is shooting at their season average tonight. Not even like they are having a crazy good game. Mavs are on pace for like 85 points.

They have to tell Luka and Kyrie to go score 70 combine points per game. Then Kyrie has to start hitting shots.

They're betting Luka/Kyrie can't beat them by themselves and just completely stifling everything but open threes and drives for them.

Would be great if this thread doesn't get filled with overreacting to 1 game and acting like the series is.alrwsdy over. Think you'd all learn your lessons from prior series

39% from the field, 53% from the line. And the announcers continue to harp on the assists. Gee, I wonder why the assists are low...

Yeah, it's been ugly but Kyrie has been brutal. An average game from him and it's a closer fight that you hope to win in clutch time.

I told myself I wouldn't overreact to game 1 of the Minnesota series no matter the result.

I think it's ok to overreact to this one. Boston didn't even have a good game and this game was over like 8 minutes in. Only one player decided to show up for the finals. This is a freaking wrap.

Positives:

It still only counts as one loss, and the Mavs are used to losing game 1.

Everyone gets a chance to play just like little league

It's not being stupid. Everything there was to worry about came to fruition, except Boston didn't even shoot amazing.

We stopped playing Hardy and went to THJ. Maxi was horrific. Lively had no impact. Everything was an unmitigated disaster. There are absolutely zero positives to take from this game.
94chem

Boston closing it out with a reverse token lineup.

Literally cut the game to 8pts in the 3rd quarter, during which time both Lively and Gafford were playing and KP played.
You just seem to be incapabel of learning that the playoffs are a series of games, where both teams will make multiple adjustments throughout it. YOu dont win OR lose the series because of one game. Get a grip.

The game never felt close. What is our adjustment? We can't guard their 5 out style. Gotta give it up to them, that are a really good team. We are just the sacrificial lamb that was going to anoint them.

Hardy outscored Kyrie 13 to 12. Hardy had 11 minutes and Kyrie had 37. I don't think that happens another game.

I think we can hang with them if we get a little better looks. Celtics had way too many easy 3s either from ball movement or high screens. We can't cheat and can't get lazy.

We couldn't shoot outside so we were forced to challenge the trees and got repeatedly stuffed. Surprised that lively and gafford weren't able to get anything going. They took a lot of contact with almost no calls.

And everything worth worrying about came true.

Our one supposed advantage, our size, didn't even result in a good rebounding game.

When we cut it to 8, I think it's fair to say we had a chance. STFU with this "we can't win this" bs

They get easy 3s because that is their offense. There isn't really anything the mavs can do other than pray they miss.

We didn't get better looks because they are a good defensive team.

Sure, we had a chance at 8. I never felt good about it. The Celtics had complete control of the game. Once they decided they didn't want the game to be close anymore, it wasn't.

Some of you have to be an absolute beating to be around. Forget the game and go apologize to your friends and family. Just say I'm sorry for being the way I am and they won't even question what you mean. Jeez.
