I guess if he gets something awesome back, it will be a win, but right now the Sixers may be wasting one of Embiid's prime years.

Kevin O'Connor mentioned that Morey may be backing off the draft picks or All-NBA part of the return, but instead he wants to get off the contract of Tobias Harris which will be over $40 mm in the 2022-23 season and is $36 mm now.
I can't imagine it's real easy to find a trade partner when about $68 mm is going out (OKC Thunder ears perk up).

Also, aside from not playing basketball in 9 months, his guaranteed years are just burning away. Will only have 3 years after this year, where as he would have given a team 4 full years before the season began. Morey is delusional if he thinks he's in a better position now.

This would be a win-win for both sides.

I actually think the move is pretty short-sighted for Philly. Trading a 25 year old all defense/all nba player plus other core pieces for a breaking down James Harden? IMO, given the needs for the respective team, it would be a BK win all the way (as proposed).

Edit: Also add to the fact that Harden is on an expiring anyways, this is a home run for the nets.
