Came across Game 5 of the 1994 Finals on NBATV earlier...same night as the OJ chase. It was very strange watching the last few minutes of the 3rd quarter with a full screen and no commentary at all. Just crowd noise.

Because we have time, what is your all-time Rockets starting 5, by their peak season? Not a body of work deal, but if you could pick 5 guys at their peak in a Rockets uniform, so no Bulls Pippen, but if you believe Pippen in his lone Houston season is in the top 5 then so be it.

I think Harden, Hakeem and Moses are locks and there are really only 2 other spots up for grabs. Can't decide on the rest.

TMAC's 05-07 run was pretty damn good.

Franchise had a couple good years in his early 20s.

Sampson in the mid 80s is up there.

You'll Laugh at this K-Mart Held his own in like 2010/2011 (whenever he was here).

Drexler's prime was not in Houston, but his first couple years were still very good.

Since we're only looking at 1 year, Westbrook has to be in the conversation for this year.

06/07 Yao was damn good. He's not starting over Dream or Malone though.

To wrap things up, Rudy before his injury. 74 was his best season.

I kind of think Francis would be my "true" point with Harden at the two. The other three would be the same. I know drexler was very good, but his prime in Houston vs. Francis' (plus allowing Harden to defend off the ball) I think may edge it that way. But I was barely into basketball when Clyde was here too.

Kenny Smith averaged over 40% from 3 over nearly 500 games with the Rockets.

I was there the night he hit 10 consecutive 3s against the Grizz. That was something to see.

Definitely Parsons on the white team. I had blocked him out of my memory b/c I don't like him, but he was a very good player until he got hurt.

I thought hard about Stevie F. at PG but let's be real, Russ is better. He is maybe a hair past his prime and we downplay what he does because he's next to James and he has been doing it for years, but he's averaging 28/8/7. He's also so much better than Francis ever was on defense. The dream team guys were all way past their prime by the time they got here, even Clyde. Pippen would be the closest one for me because of his defense and all-around play but I left him out because he was a whiny bezotch.

Elvin Hayes was the first man out for me. He was on his last legs during his 2nd stint with the Rockets, but people forget that the first 4 seasons for the franchise he averaged 28 points and 16 rebounds and they didn't record blocks back then but the first season they did, he averaged 3 per game...but he was a PF/C.

So obviously Chilly willy was in total jest, but I did look up Bullard's stats and he actually had a 44% from 3pt shooting season where he shot 3.4 three point field goals a game. Bullard would have been a much hotter commodity in todays game.

No doubt about it!

I heard him interviewed once where he said the same thing - he was a stretch 4 when stretch 4 wasn't cool. Hell he'd probably be a 5 in today's game.
