Couple observations from last night:
- first and most obvious, when role players like Gordon, Rivers, and Tucker contribute offensively this team looks completely different. It opens up the easy looks for Harden and Westbrook that they were getting last night. Denver made a concerted effort to stop the 3, we only shot 29, but we were attacking the basket like crazy. We shot 28 free throws (made 24), Denver was 11/15.
- Denver was shorthanded, but we played a lot better on defense WHEN WE ACTUALLY GOT BACK IN POSITION. It is borderline enraging when we miss a shot or turn the ball over and you see guys walking back while we give up an easy transition bucket. Once a game might deserve a pass, but it had to happen at least 5 or 6 times last night. You can't really coach that though, thats on the players to want it more.
- 27-5-5 isn't the sexiest Harden line, but he only had to play 31 minutes last night, and he started to look more like himself. Amazing what it does for his game when other guys actually show up on the offensive end.
