Also, the Fosbury flop started in 1968, so Davis' gold medal was for jumping his height in Helsinki in '52 (6'8"). Interesting reading...

Don't forget Khris missed 13 games that final A&M season due to a knee injury, and seemed limited physically in some games he did play. He had a knee surgery missing a bunch of the non-con season, then came back but often didn't look quite right, and so then subsequently sat out 3-4 conference games.

Because of that injury riddled junior year, some folks felt he might return for his senior season at A&M, but he didn't and things have worked out great for him.

Sadly I haven't forgotten much from that time. That's the season Royce White ran it down our throats to the tune of a triple double in our first conference home game and blew us out by 20. He even gave "knucks" to the ref
