Even if we could trade our high money players our cap hit would still be high and afford us too little room to go after anyone close to Middleton's caliber.

I think Marcus Morris or Trevor Ariza are the only realistic targets, but I trust Morey so we'll see what happens.

If we could get Morris, thats another guy who can hit the corner 3, play decent D, and bang a little inside with the likes of Draymond, which could afford Tucker some more rest. And you know what you will get, unlike a guy who likely won't see a single minute in the playoffs. Guys like House are extremely rare.

He'd be the perfect fit, but unfortunately we're about to be in salary cap hell. Both Harden and CP3 have contracts that increase in amount year-over-year, which means that unless the salary cap adjusts with the increases, we're going to have less and less space. Makes CP's rapid aging in this playoffs even more frustrating.

He turned 34 literally 4 days ago. I think the Rockets figured out how to manage him and his minutes and he's (*knocks on wood*) been able to hold up during our playoff run this year. I also don't think we had much of a choice as it was worth the gamble to bring him in during Harden's prime. I trust in Morey.

Maybe CP3 will rework his deal in order to sign a guy or two. I mean, he wants to win a championship right?

The guys you pay $35-$45 million need to be able to do way more than just "hold up". He needs to be excelling in the playoffs, but he really isn't. He can't get the shots he wants anymore, and he's not the defensive lockdown specialist that he used to be. Sure, he takes care of the ball well and gets a handful of steals, but we're paying him to do more than just that.

I think even Morey was thinking that CP wouldn't decline this soon. I know I didn't. But here we are.

My fear is the next two games is that this team doesn't have a killer instinct. I have no doubt we can jump on them tonight, whether we put our foots on their throat or not is another thing altogether. Don't want Curry or Clay even having a punchers Chance late in game 6.

The Rockets need to play hard and play with heart. Curry and Thompson will probably play with more passion now than if KD had not got hurt. Kinda like how the Rockets almost beat them last year without Paul.
